Do tell.

Burns isn't a Peppers or Luke. Is is solid and not some Panther great. His production is replaceable. He has sold some jerseys but the seats being full or empty has little to do with Burns being on the roster. Good guy and fun but replaceable.

It appears the Huddle has turned their hate to Burns now that Rhule is gone.
Always has to be someone to bitch about.

Good job guys.

This is so dumb. No one hates burns. Everyone just realizes when you are 2-7 with no future and another team offers you 2 1sts and a 2nd for a guy who has never had more than 9 sacks in a single season, you take that deal 101 out of 100 times. It’s a fireable offense to turn that down.

Burns can still be traded next year people are just mad because they aren't getting instant gratification since the season is a misery factory. New season same problems 🥱

Wanting to trade Burns for 1st round picks 2-3 years from now is the furthest thing from "instant gratification" lol.

Instant gratification in the sense that knowing we have those picks would still make some people feel better right now about getting destroyed by the Bengals on Sunday. Clearly judging by this thread it's a pretty easy assumption.

I'm not sure where the idea of hating a player because the organization did not trade him.

Even if we were talking about Sam Darnold or Robbie, the hate would not be any higher because the organization whiffed on a trade offer.  Now the hatred for people in organization may go up, but that would be expected.

@Mr. Scot nailed the difference between any comparison between Burns and Rhule.

Saying we should have taken 2 first rounders a a second and he is a specialized player right now isnt hate at all.  Its just the truth

    • He has attempted 8 shootout goals in his NHL career and made 1. He is among our worst SO guys on the entire roster in terms of career stats.
    • Against Miami, the Panthers were behind by 17 in the 2nd quarter facing a 4th - 5. Young completed a 21 yard pass and they went on to score 7 on that drive. Then in the 4th, down by 4, they faced a 4th - 5 and again, he completed a 17 yard pass and they went onto score a TD for the win. He also accounted for 2 of the 3 TD's.  As I said, he got them in that mess and no doubt, Rico gets credit as well, but missing on either of those 4th down conversions hands the ball over and results in 1 or 2 less TD's giving them a loss. As you said though, that's just a small quibble. The real question is how does the FO see it?  I am guessing they see it as something to build on. I think most peope here see it as a total loss and fully expect the FO to see it that way as well. Time will tell.
    • Kochetkov is just too streaky. TBD if Freddie is doing that too. Freddie is the more reliable goalie over his career. The Bussi kid looks like he could be a solid #2 eventually.  Just need to figure out the #1 guy. Same as almost every year. It's not talent, it's consistency and being able to step up in the playoffs.
