Imagine playing your heart out for this poo franchise, but then you have had enough and then get criticized for showing that you have had enough? We ask the world of our players, but forget they are human and wonder why they break sometimes under the circumstances.

STFU if you are getting paid you give max effort be it minimum wage or millions.

That's an integrity issue

We ask our players to play football.. how they feel about playing football is their problem not ours. This is a loser mentality. If you dont like your job, you quit and find another. They can do the same.

Well, he ain't lyin. I love DJ, but he just iisn'tfocused this year. The QB iissuesarent an excuse because he has quietly been one of the best WRs in the league since he was drafted and we haven't had a real, consistent, serviceable QB since Cam's arm fell off.  Yet, DJ still balled out every year.

Just watching him this season, the first thing that's evident is we seem to be struggling to get him open schematically compared to years past.  He has the same ability and tools, yet, he is rarely ever running open this season, even with a better OL giving the QBs more time.  Secondly, PJ is the only QB who has seemed to be able to hot DJ for the big plays we're accustomed to with DJ - like the deep crossers, posts, etc.  Baker can't do poo for DJ, so that doesn't help whenever he plays.  But outside of that, just look at DJ's body language.  It has never been like this.  I don't hardly ever recall him throwing his hands up in frustration in previous seasons, walking around with his head down, etc.  This is all stuff that just seemed to pop up this season.

I've rode for DJ every year when people have criticized him and proposed trade ideas for him, etc.  And I still believe in him, but again, something is off with him with year.  He is just not engaged, he is more negatively expressive than he's ever been, and he just doesn't seem focused.

I can’t blame him though. It’s a frustrating situation. He was probably hoping to get traded, but he doesn’t seem like the type to demand it like CMC did.

Randy Moss sandbagged his way off of the Raiders and then had a historical season in NE. Watch DJ absolutely go off on another team. Rodgers would have him tearing up the league. We are holding him hostage at this point

I blame us more than DJ. We convinced ourselves he's in the same echelon as a Davante Adams, or Justin Jefferson but he "just needs the right qb" just because he's our draft pick.

I've never thought he was #1 and I'll die on that hill.

Those guys make magic happen out of nothing (at times), and can completely take over a game even when everyone knows they are going to get the ball.

Not once has DJ taken over a game. The catch in Atlanta was his only shining moment that I can recall and that's probably because theres been very little shining moments here the last few years.

Should have dumped him for that #1, freed ourselves of that contract, and basically got a mulligan on our wr position this draft.

Everything about the offense is broken. DJ has hung tough through bad coaching and had QB play his entire career but he finally looks like he's had enough and checked out now that he's secured the bag.

DJ checks out every season. I wouldn't be surprised if a new coach wouldn't put him on the trading block. If I'm a new head coach reviewing the effort of players on the team DJ would stand out as one not giving any.

Wilks also said that if you are a first or second rounder, or a free agent, you are superstar players and need to be playing as superstars. I've never been in a locker room or played football  (any sports), but I'm just wondering how much the scheme is impacting the superstar players. Too many factors to consider actually.

sooo much pressure on DJ to not make one mistake, cause the whole O (Minus the OL and frreeeman) are not pullin their weight....including the OC, WRC, and QB coach.......the whole O staff are BUMS. DJ is around 20th on the main problems list..... the game plans are dumpster water bad..

    • Yeah and I am doubtful he can offer that consistently. I don’t have many years left at my age and in my view we have wasted two and this whole exercise with him was always a three year minimum.  I am out on that with a guy I don’t believe in, and never believed in, it has sucked. To me it is a costly detour off the right track. Years.    But I am not so rigid that I can’t see excellence. He needs to display it though, consistently before I change my outlook.
    • No, when I said rage, I meant rage, which only applies to certain fans on this board. Your timeline of trying to assess whether he is the future or not is really tied to the discussions surrounding his second contract. If this team is going to commit to some monster contract while he has shown nothing but glimpses of brilliance would be deservedly worrisome, so the clock is genuinely ticking for him to settle into something resembling his final form. Perhaps a best case scenario is that he plays well, the team succeeds, but he does so with a more limited role that makes the rest of the league view him as a game manager, and his second contract value reflects that. Then he continues to improve and becomes a bargain comparatively while not handicapping the team around him, and we enter an era of consistent championship competitiveness that the fanbase has craved for decades and has never really experienced before. But that requires many, many things to go right and for Bryce himself to facilitate that if he ends up being the quarterback of the future.
    • Exactly. And the flame throwers as well, get location benefits from not going all out. But they have it in reserve.  Not sure how much Greg had but he was an artist.  There was a YouTube I came across last year or maybe even 2023 and I don’t how to even find now but it had two NFL QBs I want say one was Carr from the Raiders but I don’t really remember  The point of it is they stood side by side throwing identical distances to identical targets. Radar gun was used.  They threw the normal effort (not all out) and it was measured etc. Then they were asked to throw their ‘fastball’. They were missing and most often they were missing high. It demonstrated the same principle.    edit: and applying that to arm strength, give me the guy that doesn’t need max effort to have good velocity. The margins are so narrow with less velocity in tne NFL the defenders can Close on it and this is a league where they value down to the 100th of a second level. It is that tight
