If a player stinks on one team, but is good on another, what does that mean ?

I wouldn't go as far as saying Baker Mayfield was "good" last night.

Agreed.  He was great for about ten minutes.  Their offense was below average for the first 50 minutes of the game.

Mayfield looked great in the fourth qtr of his first game with us this year.  Unfortunately, the good play didn't continue.

No doubt Rhule and the Temple coaches were terrible. But they are mostly gone and we have a great O-line coach, a very good special teams coach, good to very good defense staff. If we can get a great OC we should be in really good shape. If Wilks stay I hope we can get Frank Reich or Jim Caldwell as OC, it would completely change our offense. If we go for a new HC, we need someone with an offensive background. But I don’t see the need for starting with a clean slate coaching wise.

You do realize Baker threw the ball up for INTs just like he did with the Panthers. That was the same squirmy panic driven QB who gives games away.

The difference is the Rams have receivers that play through the route and battle for the ball. McVay doesn't let his receivers get lazy and cut off routes.

When will you realize that relying on DJ Moore as the #1 WR has been the biggest problem on offense from a playmaking and offensive production standpoint. No defense is worried about DJ Moore breaking off plays and winning games.

Robby Anderson and DJ Moore were taking up targets and holding the offense back.

No threat at TE for the LBs. No threat at the #1 WR for the safeties. No consistency from the #2 WR. Makes it too easy for a defense to sit in a short zone and focus on the QB and receiving RB.

Is DJ Moore even among the top 60 WRs in the NFL with all the young talent that has been drafted these past 3 seasons? He is definitely not in the top 20 and may not be in the top 40 at this point in the season.

All we hear is how the QB keeps holding DJ back.

This seems quite reactionary for Baker basically having one incredible drive and otherwise an OK game for him. Tremendously impressive for him to do it with less than 2 days of having the playbook. But to then extrapolate that to ask why players do so much better elsewhere than here is a stretch. Teddy Bridgewater got a couple starts in Miami, a team with a juggernaut offense and a fantastic new offensive minded coach, and in that time massively elevated Tua's MVP case with his underwhelming performance. Robbie Anderson somehow went to Kyler and the Cardinals and became even more of a minus. Meanwhile, we have Luvu turning into a legit force after being a special teamer his entire career. Eddie Pineiro was nearly run out of the league with his crappy fill in performances elsewhere before turning into an arguably above average kicker for us, following Zane Gonzalez who also revitalized his career with us. Our defense and special teams are actually pretty solid and at least decently coached. Our offense leaves a lot to be desired although is definitely better than the embarrassingly abysmal crapshow we had with Rhule.

I also think our recievers are not that good...DJ would be 2nd wr in a lot of teams...

Not a popular opinion, but correct. Many are still talking about DJ having his breakout season 5 years into his career.

DJ wasn't the best when he came into the NFL. Every draft there are 3 to 4 WRs easily better than him.

better question is why do good players/coaches/GMs who continue to be good decline to come here?

and the answer is because this franchise is a joke and Tepper instilled a losing culture that will be difficult to return from ala Browns

can’t go into the later half of a decade losing streak with no GM, HC, or qb or plan at all with a buffoon at the helm and think otherwise

And who was the Rams top WR Thursday?

    • Not sure who said it first, but Tepper is the correct answer. Still, I'm gonna go with Kasay keeping it inbounds. If, you subscribe to the butterfly effect version of time travel consequences.... When we win SBXXXVIII everybody's lives change: Moose never breaks his leg, We win it all again in 05. Tommy Jone is unknown and Peppers stays home, Champs once more 2008. No artificial pig heart turning JR into a creepy weirdo, no lockout, no Clausen. Fox and Jake ride off into the sunset on their own terms. No 2-14, no #1 pick. But, no laptop, no Blinn, 3 years behind The Golden Calf of Bristol, we still get Cam. JR let's him grow his locs like he always wanted, Smitty sees Cam in a new light. Dreads swinging, (and Smitty with his 3 Lombardis behind him) Cam is old enough to get those calls. No Manning narrative, Cotchery TD, PI against Talib on Philly Brown, 10,000 RTP calls and Kony Ealy SB50 MVP. No Jeans Fridays, no Tepper. KB doesn't slip on his own meatsweat mid-route in SD, Cam becomes the 1st QB to win 10 straight SBs. Retiring after being elected 47th president of the US of A, Cam ushers in the Permanent Proletarian Revolution across the globe, Xi Jinping bows in awe. "ẄøŘƙƐṛ§ őF ŧĤə ŵØRłð, ŮŊÏŦƐ!!!"
    • Yeah your right the owner was copping hand shandies while all this was going down
    • I mean not surprised the Patriots took him in and aren't trying to push him out. They've been the most morally bankrupt team in the NFL for a long while. Wouldn't be surprised if Vrabel has his own dirt on Kraft/Brady and other assholes from that organization over the last couple decades.
