“Injury Prone”

It is hard to say--some players have a style of play that makes them injury prone.  Many top athletes in the NFL were top athletes in pop warner, high school, college, etc.  They did not need to focus as much on mechanics because their athleticism was more than enough to compensate.  When matched with equals, however, the need for mechanics is obvious.  Am I saying that CMC was not mechanically sound?  Horn?  No, but I am saying that many injuries occur when a player is in a compromised position that contradicts what most coaches preach as far as mechanics.

You don't have to like it. None of us do. But it's going to remain a source of debate about our 8th overall pick. Now Jaycee could very well go on to have an injury free career for the next several seasons. But do you actually believe that is going to happen? I hope it does but I also know Santa isn't real.

I generally only worry about "injury prone" if they're soft tissue, non contact, or neurological.

he broke a bone in his foot on probably the worst field in the NFL that is actually large palettes of grass that are just kinda stuck together. It's a crime that this field is allowed to exist but the McNair family just HAS to be able to host the annual Texas cattle suck and fug or whatever it is.

This wrist looks like it was from a team mate slamming in to him from a weird angle while he was making a tackle. Bones break, it's what they do. Wrist is a weird area where there's a long of vasculature and nerves and you risk SERIOUS life long injury if you don't listen to the doctors.

It sucks but he went the entire year on his foot without issue and it's not like he's Julio Jones with a hamstring that locks up every 2nd quarter.

I’m the definition of injury prone. I’ve torn ligaments in my shoulder and elbow from falling. I’m torn my meniscus recently by just stepping wrong. Ive torn my labrum again after getting it fixed. Yes Horns injury sucks, but both injuries, especially this one , is a freak thing. I don’t care who you are, if you get your hand and arm smashed between a another person, and a hard as fug helmet, you’re most likely gonna have problems.

Just because you don’t want us to say it, doesn’t it make it false. Some guys just get injured more due to lack of awareness, luck, technique, diet, etc. Horn is looking like one of those guys. Example: (I know this wasn’t the injury play) Maybe he should just push a guy out of bounds instead of going for the suplex

    • You bring up a good point on the stability part and i would agree that probably will factor into it. But yes, Tepper does have a strong influence on who stays/goes but I still believe ultimately it'is Morgan, Tilis and Canales who will decide.
    • I can always count on yout to put things so delicately lol. I'm still not sold on the fact that Tepper will make them keep him if they don't see him as a long term answer.
    • holy poo... this thread inspired me to keep trying to guess passwords to various alts I've created over the years and I finally got in! I pretty much accepted my fate as a lurker for the last several months because I could not remember my password. I didn't realize that new users couldn't join either, that explains things. I have been around for years under several different monikers, through the good and bad. I too always find myself coming back here even with all of the new social media options for Panther fan engagement. It's simply nostalgic.   I do get extremely annoyed with the same 5-10 posters shitting on Bryce and complaining about everything. It's unfortunate that half of them are mods and that nobody new can join because now I pretty much just come on here and see Bryce / Panther slander. There is barely any positivity to be had. We all watch this team and hang on this forum for entertainment purposes only. We have no control or say in anything. I used to be such a crazy ass fan that would argue with strangers about Cam newton on the internet and at games. Now, as a father of 3, a business owner and someone with way gnarlier life problems - I like to watch football and talk about football as an escape. Not to bitch more. I really like the direction of the team and will root anyone in a Panthers jersey. I live down the street from the Rams practice facility, Matthew Stafford is currently coaching his daughters flag football team in the same program I coach my sons. I have two highly ranked Rams staff members sons on my team. The way we beat them and had them on the ropes in the playoffs has me feeling amazing, and you would think we have the next great thing in Bryce with the way they all speak of him. I'm gonna ride that high and be a delusional fan, I hope that huddle can stick around or get fixed and perhaps I will get back to posting more now that I can log in again. I will do my best to not get banned. Keep Pounding!
