I have heard in the last year that Brown, Horn, DJ, Shaq, Icky along with others are busts. That is my frustration. That is stupid. That only comes from people who don’t understand football and realize development from college to pros is a real thing.

Yet I’m told frequently here that I don’t understand football. When the reasoning behind it is continuing to support players like Derrick Brown for example.

This season sucked. I couldn’t agree more. But these guys did continue to fight in the second half of the season. And I respect that. And they deserve credit for not quitting.

Well Brown was close until this year. Terrible? No but his play until this year was not great. He earned not being a bust with his play this year. Mostly Shaq at 24 mil vs 12 saved is what I have heard mostly with some unnecessary shots thrown in. Once DJ signed that contract he opened himself to critisism, not hate but plenty of debate there. Horn is a talented player but way too injured, I wouldn't have a problem trading him or keeping him but with his injury issues looking at a 2nd contract and choosing an out while his value is high should be on the table with a new crew coming in. None of that is hate but if you love any of those players I would guess it sounds close to hate.

Some people are losing their minds but that is not surprising given the situation. Yeah these guys fought hard but that is also literally in their job description. Call out the people just crapping on it all and not other who are just unhappy. I respected the fight but not the product but I am also ridiculously unatached emotionally so I also get the anger being tossed around atm.

We all need a solid week away from this team. Im hoping the pkayoffs and coaching search will settle us all down with more hope than we have sniffed in 3 years.

"fellow fans" fuging lol.

Im pretty convinced there is a large contingent of folks here who would only be happy if the Panthers picked in the top 3 year in and year out.

Cant for the life of me understand why they keep coming back here.

Because miserable people like being surrounded by other miserable people.

I can kind of agree with some of the things you are getting at but this division is deep fried dogshit. We won a few meaningless games and still could not thwart the efforts of a should be retired and washed up Tom Brady. If you're happy with that hey cool more power to you. That does not mean everyone else has to agree. The Panthers have been doing this for years. Folks have a right to be frustrated. That's sports.

Lets just poo on every single player on this team. Lets poo on them for not giving up on the season and lets poo on them for not tanking. Because clearly, we want a bunch of players out there who don't want to win and just don't give a fug in general. Then we could get a top 3 pick. So lets start by shitting on the players for playing hard all year.

Then after we do that, lets poo on our best players for any reason we can. Lets do that for at least a decade. Lets start with Cam. Lets poo on Cam for turnovers even though he had NO protection on the offensive line and carried us to a Super Bowl and a league MVP. Lets start with him and then lets just keep shitting on all of our best players without context all the way to current day.

Lets poo on Brian Burns for leading our team in sacks. Lets say he's overrated even though opposing teams are willing to give up two 1sts for him because they realize hes an elite talent. Let's poo on him for being undersized or not good against the run, or not getting to Brady enough. Nah, fug him. Who is next?

Jaycee Horn. Lets poo on Jaycee for getting his wrist snapped on a play that any CB in the entire league would have had their wrist snapped. Lets say he is a wasted pick even though he is an absolute elite CB with size, speed, strength and not afraid of contact. He can shut down pretty much any WR in the league. But as a fanbase, can we not agree to band together and poo on him and make him feel like he is not appreciated?

Lets poo Derrick Brown. Lets call him a bust for two straight years. Lets give him no support and make sure he knows we don't want him. Even though he has been an absolute anchor to this defensive line this season, lets poo on him at every single opportunity.

Lets poo on Shaq Thompson. Lets get together as a fanbase and let him know he is completely unappreciated and we don't want him. Lets talk about how we should trade him for a 3rd round pick so that we can draft his replacement in the 3rd round and poo on him next season.

Lets poo on DJ Moore. Lets poo on our most productive WR. Lets poo on our best offensive playmaker even though he has continued to put up 1k yard seasons with bad QB and a different QB every single year. Lets talk about how we should trade our best offensive weapon for a 2nd round pick so we can poo on that guy next season. Lets poo on DJ Moore for not catch enough TDs even though he has been one of the most explosive and productive WRs in the entire league for the last 3 years.

Lets poo on Icky after the first 2-3 games of the season. Even though he is just a rookie and is making his first few starts, lets just go ahead and poo on him and call him a bust. Even though he has helped us improve our offensive line immensely this year, I don't want to miss a chance to poo on a rookie starting in his first game. So lets go back in time to week 1 again and make sure we poo on him even harder this time, okay?

Lets poo Terrace Marshall Jr. Lets just say he is a Rhule guy and a 2nd round bust. Lets not give him a chance to get some game time and develop, lets just go ahead and write him off as a bust now. Just like Derrick Brown, fug him. Lets just keep shitting on him.

Hey, lets go back in time again this season before we trade CMC. Lets poo on him a little more. Lets make sure he knows that even though he is one of the most dynamic playmakers since Marshall Faulk we still don't appreciate him or what he has done for our team. Lets bash the fug out of him and just call him injury prone. Even though, like Cam who we already poo on, we ran CMCs body right into the ground, fug him. Lets poo on him. That's what a good fanbase would do and no doubt players will want to come play for a fanbase that will absolutely poo on them no matter how good they do.

While we are at it, lets poo on coach Wilks. Lets poo on him for daring to make any attempt at winning football games. Doesn't he know tanking this season should mean more to him than trying to win a HC position for a team he has supported his whole life? A team from his home town? Doesn't he know we don't appreciate his run first, heavy defensive play? fug Wilks. Lets poo on him for making this shameful season somewhat respectable and giving this team an identity.

Keep pounding... this team and its players into the ground. Don't stop you guys. Don't be proud of them for continuing to fight when the season was over. Don't be proud of them for running hard, hitting harder and continuing to play when we were one of the worst 3 teams in the entire league. Don't be excited about how much they have improved since week 1 of the season. How far players have grown and developed in the last couple of season. No, fug players like Derrick Brown who half this board poo on for the last 2 and a half years. Even though he has become a monster inside and proved you ass clowns wrong, lets poo on the next guy we draft after two games. I have been a member of this board for over 10 years and the thing I admire about it most is how much poo we give to players unashamedly. Its really great. Its super cool to see a bunch of overweight internet nerds talk poo about guys who work their ass off to improve and continue to fight all season. You guys are the real champions. Keep shitting on everyone. That's what makes Jaycee Horn jealous of how great you are. You miserable bunch of absolute muppets.

sounds like a plan

I agree with the original poster. I am a Panthers fan and I am proud of how they continued to compete and make the season not a total waste. I think everyone knows they are a few players short, but it seem like everyone in  the NFL knows the Panthers are onto something good but this fanbase. The total crap fest on this team every week is truly amazing. I don't have rose colored glasses on, the nucleus is there for them to be a good team for an extended period. This draft is crucial to their future. Being up 21-10 and losing stings no doubt, but the everything sucks and everything stinks narrative many try to paint is truly draining.

This is such a BS narrative.

I dont have to go more than 3 pages back on the main forum to find someone pumping up every QB who will be available in the draft.

This fan base is like firing a shotgun at a target and claiming victory because a pellet hits the bullseye.

Getting it right at QB is the hardest thing to get right for any team. Most nfl teams get the QB position wrong.

Things the huddle got right from the get go that were basic and all visible in under a year.

Keeping Ron 1 year too long. Keeping Hurney 2.0.

Rhule being under qualified from college

His entire staff being from college was a bad idea and not NFL capable

Cam debacle then

Signing T2G to a ridiculous contract only to cut bait after a year

Overpay for Darnold and the 5th year.

Elflein and Irving in FA day 1.

BC all over the line instead of starting at LT when he was playing better than Irving from the start.

Chinn to FS after an almost DROY

Camp QB competition this year

Elflein over Bozeman

Our "Rockstar" OC

Not firing Rhule after season 2

Baker

PJ

Ian Thomas extension

Any number of team members associated with Temple/Baylor.

That's not firing a shotgun and getting lucky. The huddle was correct regarding all of this before it played out.

Yes, people downplay the judgement of this forum, but overall we know when something is gonna work out or not. And I’m not counting the “forced optimism” posts in this

    • You kinda gloss over this, but this is really at the crux of this whole argument....which Flacco are we talking here?  You bring up that he played with 3 different teams but ignore the fact that his performance varied quite a bit from team to team. 2024 Colts: 65.3% completion, 12 TDs, 7 INTs, 220.1 YPG, 7.1 Y/A, 90.5 rating 2025 Browns: 58.1% completion, 2 TDs, 6 INTs, 203.8 YPG, 5.1 Y/A, 60.3 rating 2025 Bengals: 63.4% completion, 12 TDs, 3 INTs, 290.6 YPG, 6.8 Y/A, 96.2 rating 2025 Flacco (Browns + Bengals): 61.1% completion, 14 TDs, 9 INTs, 252.0 YPG, 6.1 Y/A, 80.8 rating vs. 2025 Bryce: 62.7% completion, 14 TDs, 7 INTs, 196.2 YPG, 6.2 Y/A, 86.0 rating I bolded the comparison that I think objectively makes the most sense...just simply comparing the two QBs for the entire season.  Otherwise you'd be cherry-picking Flacco's time with the Bengals and ignoring his earlier stint with the Browns, which sounds an awful lot like people cherry-picking Bryce's stats in the second half of last season. So again, which Flacco?  Basically the only thing consistent with Flacco across each of these teams was his W/L records: 2-4, 1-3, and 1-4 respectively.  I'd say if we're comparing each version of him to Bryce this year: Colts Flacco > 2025 Bryce, Browns Flacco <<< 2025 Bryce, Bengals Flacco >> 2025 Bryce, and 2025 Flacco < 2025 Bryce - Flacco this year only beats out Bryce on YPG but in part because he throws significantly more passes (almost 60 YPG more than Bryce, despite a lower Y/A which is pretty telling) .  Flacco is maybe the most apt case study about how important a QB's circumstances are to his success.  He was easily a bottom 3 QB in Cleveland and arguably top 10-15 in Cincinnati...and we're talking about the same player from the same season.  All that happened was taking him from one team and plopping him onto another team; nothing inherently changed about him as a QB.  Funny enough I think that's all that one dude on here was trying to say when he made that long poorly-received post after having an epiphany working for PFF behind the scenes or w/e.  That it's largely short-sighted to just try to evaluate QBs in a vacuum when there are so many variables at play that ultimately decide whether a QB is successful or not.   I think Bryce has been mediocre at best this season and I'm ready to move on regardless of how he ends this season - I'm highly skeptical a strong end to the season will carry over into next year considering how last year ended and this year began.  I would certainly agree that he's a bottom-third QB this year.  I just don't understand you scoffing indignantly at anyone holding the opinion that Bryce has had a better season than Flacco...I can only assume it's recency bias.  Or maybe you know the stats don't support you, which is why you're conjuring up the god-forsaken arbitrary "eyeball test" which is the kinda thing people in here were saying about Fields for years, pinky promising that he really truly was a franchise QB despite his awful stats.  Perhaps it's called the eyeball test because I roll my eyes anytime I hear someone bring it up seriously as an argument.
    • CMC said he expected to play his career here.  He didn't think he would be traded.  Carolina decided they wanted to trade him.  He picked here he wanted to go.   But we dumped him.  For largely peanuts.   But we dumped DJ Moore and he never had a blood and guts game.   So it's never a guarantee.
    • I have many people telling me CMC was blindsided and heartbroken by the trade, but that's not how I remember everything going down.  49ers are pretty wounded right now on defense so if our offense can sustain drives and score, that'd be the difference maker. Their offense? I'm not scared of CMC.
