And to anyone else who gives "intelligent" answers like "Huh?" to my "F the playoffs" comment :

I am merely stating that I don't give a sh-t about the Playoffs in light of this situation.

OKAY???

okay.

I mean then just don’t reply? Or attempt to articulate yourself better in the original reply. The topic was about rescheduling the game. I suggested they shouldn’t. The other poster agreed with me.

I couldn’t tell if you were just being a jerk because the Panthers missed the playoffs, that this situation shook you up so bad you can’t possibly think two weeks ahead or if something else was going on.

I’ll ignore the “intelligent” crap because you’re upset tonight.

I bet Tee Higgins feels especially bad right now.  He apparently did nothing wrong, but even being involved in something like that could be a very traumatic experience.

dude has to be inconsolable.  On the play, he could have cut either way and prlly gotten atleast the same amount of yards, but he decided to go at Hamlin in an effort to keep the physicality.  Its the kind of play that happens early in a game to set up for "business decisions" later, but had he not done that, the game is still going on.  I cant even imagine whats going through his head.

I played in college, and even though everyone around you is getting dinged and injured, you somehow don't think of it happening to you.  The warrior mentality takes over.  I can say that when I was injured twice and the surgeon told me that I was done, there was a part of me that was relieved.  The decision I never wanted to make was made for me, and I found immediate peace with it.  I found other things to do, and they did not hurt as much.  So if this experience helps him find peace off the field, I get it.

I quit playing in HS because the reality that I was too small to be this slow was apparent to me. I had no future in the game past this level so let's just call it now.

But what Ryan Clark said resonated with me at 40. He said at 24 I didn't even know that I COULD die. It's true. Yeah, you know. But you don't know. Most people have fortunately never had to face their own mortality at that age. You haven't faced any serious health issues and your immediate family is probably still alive and relatively healthy.

At 16 I was in a bad mountain biking crash. I was knocked out cold and bit through my tongue so hard I chipped several teeth and cracked my helmet almost completely in half. My entire thoughts on the matter were, damn that sucked. Literally never occured to me it could've been so much worse. At 19 I was involved in a partial ejection rollover car crash. Same thing. Damn, that sucked. Keep it moving. You're just invincible on your own mind at that age.

God this is so horrible to turn on my TV and see this news. I hope the guy will be okay. I don't understand if it was the particular play on the field that cause sit or some awful underlying medical condition. Either way I can only pray here and hope the poor guy pulls through just fine. I can only imagine how his family and teammates must have felt seeing that on the field. Feel so awful for everyone involved.

Not sure what the NFL protocol would be here, but I won't be shocked if this game is ultimately just flat out cancelled and registered as a tie. This late in the season I don't see how they can squeeze it in even if they wanted to.

Or just don't count the game. Leave Buffalo and Cincinnati with 16 games.

Cincinnati and Buffalo could possibly see each other again in the playoffs.

    • One economist says you can retire on just $50,000-$100,000 in total savings, citing experience of actual retirees as evidence 85% of retirement-age Americans (65 to 74) said they were "living comfortably, or at least doing OK" when asked how well they were doing financially Only 15% said they were struggling. The finding matters, Biggs says, because most retirees have much less than $1 million in the bank. In the federal survey, the typical senior who reported a satisfactory retirement had $50,000 to $100,000 in savings. “It’s impossible to find any evidence that seniors need even a fraction of $1.46 million in savings to be financially secure,” Biggs wrote. By his argument, retirees don’t need nearly so much savings as financial planners say they do. source: https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/2024/06/07/retire-without-a-million-dollars/73969717007/
    • Nobody is asking you to root for him.  We (or at least I am) are asking you to stop derailing every single thread by bringing up Bryce Young. And you do this constantly.  And this isn't me saying that we shouldn't have negative takes about Bryce on this forum, so before you accuse of me of trying to eliminate negative posts about Bryce, that isn't the case at all.  However, to me, it is weird to come into a thread that was about highlighting our offseason/OTAs, and unprompted, you go into bashing Bryce Young.  There are at least 5 other threads on the first page alone where you could have trashed Bryce.  And you know this, because you have in all of them threads. You're a smart guy from what I can tell but your disdain for Bryce has become obnoxious, even if you are right about him.  If a Bryce fan bombarded every single thread to talk about how good they felt he was, you wouldn't like it.  I know this because anytime this discussion happens you bring up "Bryce fanboys," when in fact everything you accuse them of doing?  You do the same thing except from the opposite side.
