Gotta wonder what happened there.

What happened is Sean Payton is beginning to look like our next coach.  We are the best job this year.  Good O-line.  We're don't have a vet qb contract weighing us down.  We have some defensive pieces.  As crazy as Tepper is it's not the Church of Latter Day Saints like the Texans organization.

It's really the logistics which is the biggest tell.  Sean has been zooming with teams remotely.  Tepper hasn't even interviewed any of the candidates in person.  Yet here we are this week with Tepper and Payton flying out to NYC where Tepper is going to wine and dine him personally and probably slip a roofie in his drink so he can get some damning photos unless Payton takes the job.

I still don't want Payton.

Crazy how many are turning down HC openings.

Well put yourself in some of these guys shoes and look at the situation they are walking into.  I can't say as I can fault them for waiting another season to see how things shake out elsewhere.  There's more to consider than just the players they inherit.

I know and I respect your football acumen.  It's not really about what you or I want.  I'm just connecting the dots.  I'm fine with Wilks, I'm fine with Payton.  I didn't think Johnson was ready.  I don't think Steichen is ready.  Payton in a known commodity and the Panthers need to win.  He appears to be the safest bet out of the field of candidates.

    • He talks way too much about his time in Seattle and Russell Wilson and how they built that team in 2012.   I won’t fall for any of it until I see them play for a year
    • Lol people like you are so silly and the only reason I seem to care to log on to post these days. How can you sit there and say Bryce was the reason Williams hurt his knee on that play. Maybe it's because you dislike Bryce so you are somewhat blind as to what actually happened? Not quite sure but maybe you should get your eyes checked. Williams hurt himself by trying to make a cut after spinning around to make that catch. Pause it at 3:24. Had he landed and ran like normal instead of going to plant his foot in the ground and make a cut he doesn't get hurt. Don't put that on Bryce. That was 100% Williams fault he got injured
