Thanks for the heads up.  Hadn't looked heavily into him but man, he's interesting for sure.

Worked with Fangio as DQC in San Fran early 2010s (Also w/ST, WRs); then with McVay as a Defensive coach & passing game coordinator.

Now had a really damn good defense.  This guy looks pretty legit.

Why don't the Broncos just promote him then

Steichen has relied on facing the worst defenses in the NFL, leaning on one of the better defenses in the NFL, and scoring 20+ points in the 2nd quarter while being shut out consistently in 2 to 3 quarters per game. The Eagles offense from a coaching perspective is extremely volatile. It looks a lot like the Mike Shula offense that ran up the score in 2nd quarters to go 15-1 during the season, and went flat as soon as that offense hit a good NFL defense in the playoffs.

Are we hoping Steichen is the best of Rob Chudzinski, Mike McCoy, Anthony Lynn and Norv Turner? A coach that is the product of the Seifert, Fox, Rivera and Wilks coaching lines? It's no wonder the Eagles offense resembles the Panthers 2015 15-1 offense. An offense that can pile up the points on a weak defense in the playoffs and then struggles when the buzz saw that is a top NFL defense gets in the way.

Don't pretty much all offenses struggle against elite NFL defenses?  Thats why the defenses in question are elite, because they shut everybody down.

I would put a healthy some on him heading back to TV.

He very well could, but I’ve seen a lot of media people talking about how long this is taking. It’s taking long for all teams not just the teams Payton is eyeing. I would imagine Payton himself will take a while bc so much needs to happen.

I doubt it.  Fitterer even said after this season that last years draft was a "nuts and bolts" draft and never mentioned Corral I dont think.  The question I'm sure that came up is what would you want to do to fix the qb problem.  Not, can you fix corral?

the dude your opinion GIF

tbh, we really don't know whether Corral ever came up or not.

I still would like one of the QB's in the draft anyway so it won't matter, though.

Looks like Quinn is the favorite for the Broncos job now. If it's to push someone it's Carolina. He's already one of the highest paid broadcasters on Fox at like 10m per for part time work basically.

I can't imagine Fox would be heartbroken if he walked away. He's not some great TV personality.

Do you think we get him?

Can this please be the last interview of the “first” round? We’ve seen interviewed everyone and their mothers at this point. Hopefully we have it pretty narrowed down after this.

I was thinking about this actually. IF the current front runners are are Steichen, Payton, and Wilks, there's nothing else we can do with them this week (except hire Wilks, but they can keep him on the backburner since it doesn't look like anyone else has interest in even bringing him in). In that case, they may decide to speak to another candidate or two just because it seems like we're in a holding pattern (especially if Steichen is the top candidate).

I wouldn't mind bringing in Raheem Morris for an interview. Prior HC experience, a defensive mind but like Evero spent a few years on the offensive side as WRs coach and pass game coordinator under Dan Quinn.

    • Not sure who said it first, but Tepper is the correct answer. Still, I'm gonna go with Kasay keeping it inbounds. If, you subscribe to the butterfly effect version of time travel consequences.... When we win SBXXXVIII everybody's lives change: Moose never breaks his leg, We win it all again in 05. Tommy Jone is unknown and Peppers stays home, Champs once more 2008. No artificial pig heart turning JR into a creepy weirdo, no lockout, no Clausen. Fox and Jake ride off into the sunset on their own terms. No 2-14, no #1 pick. But, no laptop, no Blinn, 3 years behind The Golden Calf of Bristol, we still get Cam. JR let's him grow his locs like he always wanted, Smitty sees Cam in a new light. Dreads swinging, (and Smitty with his 3 Lombardis behind him) Cam is old enough to get those calls. No Manning narrative, Cotchery TD, PI against Talib on Philly Brown, 10,000 RTP calls and Kony Ealy SB50 MVP. No Jeans Fridays, no Tepper. KB doesn't slip on his own meatsweat mid-route in SD, Cam becomes the 1st QB to win 10 straight SBs. Retiring after being elected 47th president of the US of A, Cam ushers in the Permanent Proletarian Revolution across the globe, Xi Jinping bows in awe. "ẄøŘƙƐṛ§ őF ŧĤə ŵØRłð, ŮŊÏŦƐ!!!"
    • Yeah your right the owner was copping hand shandies while all this was going down
    • I mean not surprised the Patriots took him in and aren't trying to push him out. They've been the most morally bankrupt team in the NFL for a long while. Wouldn't be surprised if Vrabel has his own dirt on Kraft/Brady and other assholes from that organization over the last couple decades.
