I would say it's the most apropos stat, but it's certainly not the only one (as you posted). There is plenty of evidence to suggest that Lamar is a good passer, but some Huddlers are just...analytically lazy.

It's the standard "running QB's aren't real QB's" crap that some of these dolts have been spewing since the days of prime Mike Vick. Just a bunch of fuging idiots who don't have any clue what they are seeing.

Trading Fields would  come as a shock considering how well he played for the Bears this season.

It’s all just rumors at this point, and quite honestly, I’m a little skeptical about it. However, it is definitely something to watch out for, as this could be a massive addition for whoever trades for Fields.

You folks need to chill out on these prospects and trading for a couple of months.

There is a chess match about to start in few weeks and things will not be as they appear. Misinformation will be rampant and the media will be pushing narratives and hype.

Agents will be manning the phones and making deals while pimping their clients through know-it-all TV personalities.

And fans will be demanding that they know who's the best this or that because some experts says they are...and will fight you about it.

and you will be right there through it all insisting the best approach is the team play it safe and signs a cost efficient veteran to man the position until the next can’t miss generational prospect slides to us at #7 next season, or #9 in the following, or #8 after that, on and one forever and ever

Lamar is not a bad passer, which makes your post null and void.

His career passer rating is 96.7.

Hes elite against above average to bad teams.  He plays a really good team or makes it to the playoffs and his passing numbers and numbers in general are very bad.

VERY hard pass

Zero interest in Fields, he’s an even worse passer than Lamar and will want a huge contract after next year.

I’ve said from the start that the Bears should trade him and start a new clock on a QB contract extension with one with better passing upside, but that’s also why I wouldn’t want us to take him on.

He only threw the ball 318 times and had 60% completion and 7.0 YPP. You aren't going for 3500+ yards 20+ TDs throwing the ball 318 times with his supporting cast on offense. He's not as bad of a thrower as a lot of you guys are making him out to be.

    • He was so much fun to watch as a player but is a prototypical example of the old "never meet your heroes" adage. Great player, not a great guy.
    • Look.... if us BY "haters" give credit about his GWDs...... Will the BY stans also have honest discussion about the 55minutes before the last 5 in which BY has put up 9/20 for 78 yards 0 TDs???
    • The way they are handling now is how they should have handled it from the start instead of that you get a series, you a get a series. Let Chuba spell until he had some of his step back.  We definitely could have put a better showing against Buffalo and their weak run defense had we employed the same game plan we did against Green Bay. Saints were determined to stop the run and make Bryce beat them, Atlanta had similar plan and the coaches and Bryce were able to respond.  Rico although didnt have the best rushing game was vital in the passing game and his catch and run help get us into the redzone there at the end of regulation probably should have been a touchdown that out of bounds was a judgement call it wasn't conclusive and thus should have went with the original call on the field.  Roco brings that dawg to the offense that it shorely lacked up until Miami game. Interesting it was his call that help seal the win for us, glad the coaches were listening. Hope they can get a deal done and run it back next year.
