Mahomes was 16-21 as a starting QB at Texas Tech. Who cares about team records when you're looking at individual prospects? We aren't looking to draft the team we're looking to draft the player. Watch the player not the team.

This. And it’s my biggest concern over Young/Stroud. Everyone loves them. They get the most publicity. They play in big games. But they quarterback the two most consistently stacked teams on Saturday.

They have talent. You can’t be QB at those programs without talent…but is it franchise top 3 pick talent?

I’m not so sure about that.

It definitely makes it a tougher evaluation IMO but it is what it is. Most of the top talent is gonna be on the elite teams, that's why they're elite.

Jalen Hurts says hi. Pretty sure he piloted a decent college team.

Jalen Hurts (Alabama/Oklahoma), Joe Burrow (OSU/LSU), healthy Tua (Alabama), Trevor Lawrence (Clemson), Deshaun Watson (Clemson) would seem to argue against that.

BTW, everyone seems to be sold on Caleb Williams and Drake Maye as the top 2 QBs/franchise-altering talents in the 2024 draft (and as a UNC fan/alum, I'm sold on Maye), but when's the last time USC or UNC produced franchise QBs? Cuts both ways.

Totally different QBs. Fields is more athletic, but Stroud is light years ahead of him as a pocket passer. Similar arms, but Stroud's accuracy is what sets him apart from Fields and from the other QBs in the 2023 class. The floor is quite a bit higher with Stroud than it was with Fields.

I honestly don't think the arms are similar. I think Fields' pure arm talent is significantly better. Stroud checks the box but Fields has an elite arm.

they are stacked at talent because they get the most talented people...including QB. people say that there's no way stroud would have been as productive without those elite WRS, but would they be seen as so elite without stroud throwing them the ball? i mean i think they both made each other look good, but they were really good to begin with.

what we saw of stroud in the game with GA was what he looks like when he doesn't have those elite WRs and he still looked really good, in fact he looked the best and most complete that he has all year. he put that team on his shoulders the way you want a QB to. the only problem was the defense and special teams let him down, but make no mistake....he did everything he could possibly do to win.

that loss wasn't on him. they had a chance to win it at the end because he was carrying them. to me, that game proved why he should be drafted in the top 3-5 spots.
