That stings bc I like Reddick. Still, that other plan was signing Frankie Luvu for a third of the price. Not a bad consolation. Reddick signed for 3 years at 15mil per and Luvu for 2 years at 4.5mil per. 
 

Reddick is a bigger game wrecker as far as sacking the QB and creating turnovers, but Luvu had 111 combined tackles this year to Reddick’s 49. Reddick is a pass rush specialist who played 74% of Philadelphia’s defensive snaps. Luvu played 92% of ours.
 

We did fine on that decision for where we are as an organization. We’re not in a Super Bowl window like the Eagles.

Yeah I’m surprised how salty people are about it. I felt like when we signed him we always knew it was going to be a 1yr rental.

He is an elite pass rusher. You really can't have enough of those. 

The thought was that Burns would be that elite guy but he hasn't quite been able to reach that height yet. 

Luvu is a great player but he isn't in the same class when it comes to keeping QB pressure. 

But, Reddick was also used very effectively by Philly and 97% of what we did in Carolina was insanely stupid. Perhaps we will get more out of these guys with competent coaching.

Man, I loved Reddick.  He made some great plays for us.  The Panthers made other choices in who to pay, whether it was Rhule or Fitterer at the end of the day.  Reddick is a great pass rusher and impact player, but as we've seen, he wasn't truly a full time player in that he had to come out.  Is it a quibble?  Probably, but Frankie has been more than fine.  He's not the pass rusher that Reddick is, but he's really coming into his own as a player and I'm thrilled that we have Luvu.

Would Reddick have been as impactful this past season?  Considering we switched from our hybrid approach to more of a standard 4-3 when Wilks took over - I'm not totally sure.  I'm happy for him.

Meh he knows he wanted to leave and go to a contending team and he has a connection to Philly. He was vocal about his aggravation with the team at times on Twitter that season too. He's in a better situation which is what he wanted. Enjoy the moment it might not come around again take it from us.

He was a pass rusher only. He could not cover a TE or RB out of the backfield. That is Burns problem as well. In a 3-4 the LBs have to be able to cover as well and those 2 cannot.  They can only do one thing, rush the passer.

Dropping back burns was a fan failure not a defensive failure. Burns in zone eats up a lot of space and disturbs passing lanes. That’s the point. 
 

schemes drop back defensive lineman… that’s just how they are drawn up. It’s to confuse the QB and o line while throwing off the timing of pass plays. It’s not like burns was dropping back 30%+ of the time.

      Just going off the draft sims and he's always sitting around 20 lol. First year in a while where we haven't been thinking about the draft already in late October so haven't really looked into the top 15-20 picks yet. Also the qb class is super weak so he probably will sneak up into 10-15

      I fully expect them to pick up his 5th year , and they're waiting for him to put a full excellent consistent season of QB play in year 4 or 5. If that don't happen,  they'll eventually cut ties.  Here's to hoping he just goes on a team in 2026. The worst thing he could do is continue to see-saw us to around .500 records because it might be impossible to replace him at that point unless youre willing to do the veteran qb carousel poo we did from 2019 to 2023.

      What do you think of Bryce Youngs career thus far? Are you excited about his progress or is it not enough for you? I included a poll of ranking his performance through 3 years thus far.  I personally think he's made some decent progress. Has had some high moments (last half of 2024, Rams game, ATL game in 2025)  but in my mind, those are still outweighed by the many more lowlights thus far (ex turnovers, missed throws, poor decisions)  It's a very mixed bag for me. He's done enough to get a 5th year option but by no means should we lock him in with a 50+ mil a year multi year deal. I want to see him play consistently well for a full year before that happens (yes, I'm still saying that going into year 4. That might be telling).  Just sucks when you see CJ Stroud, Jayden Daniel's, Caleb Williams almost immediately lighting poo up with their arm talent. Maybe Bryce is just an ultra slow burn. I don't know what to think anymore. Guess we're gonna be stuck with him for a whilr unless we end up being bad enough to earn a high pick next year. I doubted it lol. Overall Stats for his career:       ● 14 W - 30L (regular season)       ● 0-1 playoffs record        ● 61.4% completion, 8291 passing yards, 49 TDs, 30 INTs  Year 1:       ● 2 wins, 14 losses      ● 60% completion rate, 2877 passing yards, 11 TD to 10 INTs, 5.5 yards per attempted pass Year 2:        ● 4 wins , 8 losses        ● 60.9% completion rate,  2403 passing yards, 15 TD, 9 INTs,  6.3 yards per attempted pass  Year 3:        ● 8 Wins, 8 Losses         ● 63.6% competition rate, 3011 passing yards, 23 TDs to 11 INTs  Playoffs         ● 1 game in year 3 ( 0 - 1 in playoffs)         ● 21/40 (52.5% completion rate), 264 passing yards, 1 TD, 1 INT.
