This is something people can’t wrap their head around.

Drake and Caleb are going 1 and 2.  If you don’t have those picks.  Your not getting them.  As Daniel Jeremiah said.  Even if you have pick 3.  Teams aren’t trading out to 3 off those guys.  So pretty much tough luck.

And outside those 2 guys.  Next years QB class is uncertain.  The next guy up isn’t even getting the hype of Bryce, Stroud, ARich, etc this time last year.  So we going to do this again talking is it worth it to move up from 20.  Trading 3 1sts for Spencer Rattler?

Chicago will trade down next yr just like this yr.

If they’re in that position again

they’re 10000% trading Fields and drafting Drake or Caleb.  Same way Jets did Darnold for Zach Wilson.

I can't believe the amount of people who actually want to sign him.

Like what happened to the franchise QB talk for the last 3 years...

Im seeing people say they rather have a 32 year old Derek Carr over a 26 year old former MVP candidate Lamar Jackson.lmao

He was the 2019 MVP…

So…

He’s expecting a Deshaun Watson type deal, long term and guaranteed…

Ummm, HELL NO!!

Signing Carr and drafting a QB are not mutually exclusive.

Maybe not to you but reports from his now former team indicate he wants a full commitment. If there's any chance at all he would take offense to us still taking a QB at 9 he can fug off and fleece some other team.

Apples and oranges.

I am not a fan of bringing in Carr, but you do not sell the farm for Jackson if you do not think he is the guy--even if he did get nominated for an award that one time.  Ask fans in Denver how that kind of thinking and $$$ is working out.

What is Jackson going to cost the franchise?  A "windfall" of picks, or they will franchise him.  What is Carr going to cost?  Zilch.  Apples and Oranges.  You are suggesting that the Panthers form the best QB coaching staff in the NFL and bring in an establish vet with a playing style that nullifies their expertise?  I just do not see it.

I feel like a lot of people pooing on Carr haven't watched him play.  I have since college and he is an elite QB.  The Raiders are a trainwreck organization.

"Elite" seems over the top. He's good; sometimes very good, but not consistent enough to be elite. But you're not wrong about the Raiders organization.

You seem to know a lot about what Carr, his agent and the Panthers front office are thinking and discussing.

And herein lies the risk for going all in to trade up for Young or Stroud.  The draft capital destroyed by the Jets, and they were still in QB hell afterwards.

Getting Carr defeats the purpose of the staff we put together in my opinion. We invested in a staff that can build and develop a more polished QB quickly with a higher ceiling than Carr. One we can benefit from being on a rookie deal for 5 years. We built this staff for the Young/Stroud/Williams/Maye’s of the world. We just have to remain disciplined as we try to get one.

At least they’re making swings

ask the Vikings fans how it feels to tie themselves  off to a Kirk Cousins mid level ceiling

    • I'm sorry but if you're saying the things you are then you don't know ball or are just trolling.    Differential says the hornets are the 7-8th best team in the NBA. They started the year off injured and horrible in clutch moments. They are -6 in expected record because of the above two things and have found out how to win.    Coaching is absolutely not a problem at all, it's a big reason they are turning the corner and winning.    12-3 over the last 15 with only one of those losses at full strength.  +2.8 differential  Starting lineup has the best net of any 5 man lineup in NBA history. They are favorites in 15 of the teams last 22 games.  Their expected record is 44-38, which likely gets them the 6th seed.
    • I wouldn’t complain if we drafted Dillon Thieneman at #19 and finally fix the FS black hole we’ve had for so long. He’s a natural cover 3 FS.
    • At the 2026 NFL Combine, the Carolina Panthers, led by GM Dan Morgan, are evaluating a deep draft class with a 600-player board, specifically targeting defensive upgrades and offensive playmakers . Key reported formal interviews include LB Sonny Styles (Ohio State) and DE Keldric Faulk (Auburn), while also considering safety Caleb Downs and WR KC Concepcion.  AI Reported 2026 Combine Meetings/Visits: LB Sonny Styles (Ohio State): Confirmed formal interview with the Panthers. DE Keldric Faulk (Auburn): Confirmed formal interview with the Panthers. S Caleb Downs (Ohio State): Linked as a high-priority target for defensive improvement. WR KC Concepcion (NC State): Expressed interest in joining the organization, with the team highly aware of him, according to Carolina Panthers.  Draft Focus and Strategy: Defensive Focus: The team is searching for defensive upgrades, particularly a long-term answer at linebacker to continue the legacy of Sam Mills and Luke Kuechly. Draft Board Depth: The Panthers entered the combine with 600 prospects on their board, as stated by GM Dan Morgan. Offensive Needs: Despite having the 2025 Offensive Rookie of the Year in Tetairoa McMillan, they are exploring receivers to boost the passing game.
