Wait until you hear about trading 3 1sts to move up from 20 into the top 10 next year for the great Bo Nix or Spencer Rattler

If we are at 20 this year after the past 5 years we are doing something right and should keep whatever QB we have.

Are you ready for “I'm actually on the 2025 train.  We can't/won't get Maye or Caleb Williams and the next two have HUGE question marks.  Solidify the roster at other positions this year, get the bridge QB and draft the QB of the future next draft.”

100% this

Sadly, I'm on the train of don't go QB if young or stroud are gone, but let's not pretend the same thing won't happen next year with williams and maye (who I'm not sold on), and the  a few other guys that will be the same tier as Levis and Richardson predraft...

Yeah that’s right. Keep kicking that QB can down the road.

Have little clue about who's available then, huh?

I'm curious who you have so high next year other than Maye and Williams. Penix, Daniels, Leary, Travis, Nix, and Ewers all have some pretty big question marks. Levis this time last year was more intriguing than all of them tbh. If Penix and Nix came out this year its pretty unlikely they would have been in the top 4 guys. I would have had Penix over Mckee and Hooker for sure though.

Pennix scares me.  He had A good season.  But it was in a fairly weak Pac12.

Additional, it was his first real good full season out of 5.  He missed most of his other 4 seasons due to multiple injuries including 2 torn ACLs.  He never made it through half a season because injuries in his first 4 seasons

Yeah I think he's got a really nice arm and I enjoy watching him work that offense but he's done it at this level one of his 5 years and his injury history has to be a bit of a concern. I think he could easily be a first round pick but I wouldnt bank on anything with him yet.

I really think Jordan Travis is going to shoot up draft boards next year and could be in play for the 3rd QB but i'm not going to make decisions now based on that.

Ewers is going to have to have some significant improvement to live up to the hype built for him.

Honestly even Maye feels like about where Stroud was this time last year, another year of film always helps people fixate on the flaws. Maye losing his OC is going to be interesting to see him work through. I love him but nothings certain right now.

Keep in mind: not everyone who isn’t excited about this quarterback class is a “wash, rinse, repeat” person.

I’ve liked Howell and Corral for awhile, and they did good things at schools that weren’t powerhouses.

The top 2 this class I’ve been afraid of (well documented) because they had far easier Saturdays.

Doesn’t mean I end up being right. Odds are I’m wrong. But there are classes I like and classes I don’t.

I don’t dislike the class every year.

Everyone gets excited about a draft class a year in advance. The media is a hype machine and you have to ignore that stuff. But fans of certain players or their schools always eat that up because, well, they want to hear it. But the reality is the media has no clue how professional teams view these prospects. They are lazy and just repeat whatever some other mouth-breathing "draft expert" says. None of them have a clue.

If we had beaten Tampa this year, we'd be at 19 this year. You are saying if it wasn't for that one loss, we should be sticking with Sam Darnold?

The biggest problem with all the "wait til next year" crowd is that they consistently make the assumption we'll be in the same general range when drafting.  That's especially troubling now considering that our coaching is VASTLY superior to what it was last year - you could make the case that our coaching is the best it's ever been.

I find it quite easy to assume that we'll win another two games next year.  That puts us in the 17 - 21 range drafting.  If you want to move up from that range to the top 4 (as opposed to where we are this year), the cost is going to be 1.5 to 2 times.  The value of those first 3-4 picks is ludicrously high.
