Because I think there are better prospects to gamble on. Am I not allowed to have an opinion lol?

Thats not it at all dude.  You've been coming on here now for quite some time mockingly asking "whats so great about AR, why is he such a great prospect?"  and then people point out why, they show you videos and reports from scouts/analysts you still keep your head in the sand.  And then 20 minutes later you are asking the exact same question.  If its shtick then its annoying.   You can have a different opinion but to act like he doesnt have high level traits and he isnt a top prospect is just pretty dumb and telling.

Mods. I wasn’t sure where to put this so pls merge if appropriate

Per Ryan Fowler on tweeter

Tennessee QB Hendon Hooker has met extensively with the Raiders, Panthers, Giants, Saints, and Cowboys during the pre-draft process, per source.

The dual-threat talent is expected be healthy and ready for training camp after suffering a torn ACL in Nov.

I don't mind Hooker and it would fit nicey with shoring up the left side of the OL. "

In Daniel Jeremiah's mock draft 2.0 on NFL.com, he has the Carolina Panthers staying put at No. 9 and selecting Northwestern offensive tackle Peter Skoronski.

"For this mock, I’m assuming the Panthers don't trade up to land a quarterback and instead go the veteran route at the position. Skoronski can slide inside to play guard in Carolina, teaming up with Ikem Ekwonu to give the Panthers two building blocks for the offensive line. New head coach Frank Reich knows the impact of investing heavily in the line of scrimmage, having spent time on the Eagles’ staff before he left for Indianapolis." If he is there or one of the other top OLinemen to go with Ekwonu.

What is telling? And no, no one has taught me anything about him. Highlight videos mean nothing. To ME it's about stats and college experience. His are not that great. No one has shown/told me how much better his arm is than the others, how faster he is, how he's THAT much more elusive than the rest, how he willed his team time and time again to win, etc. All I've seen is a bunch of fanboys like yourself who are in love with his size and what he may be able to do in the NFL.

Give me Stroud.

I want Stroud too but it would cost a serious haul to move up to get him. If the kid isn't basically walking on water in his rookie season this place will be roasting him 24/7. But I'm warming to the possibility of keeping our extra picks taking Anthony Richardson at 9 and stacking more offensive talent. Added bonus is Brooklyn Bully will blow his stack.

Jeremiah:

Hooker is an ultra productive QB with size, accuracy and athleticism. He operates in the Vols' unique spread attack, where they send their outside wideouts to the extreme edges of the field and force opponents to defend them in space. Hooker has outstanding field vision, makes quick decisions and delivers the ball in a position where his receivers can easily run after the catch. He doesn’t have a powerful arm, but he can make all the necessary throws. He throws a beautiful deep ball. He has the athleticism to extend plays and he’s very effective on designed QB runs. Unfortunately, he suffered an ACL injury late in the season that could jeopardize his rookie campaign. Also, his age (25) is a concern for some teams. Overall, I see Hooker as a quality starting QB and wouldn’t be shocked if he has the best career of any passer in this year's class.

Number 50 of Jeremiah's top 50. Interesting concluding opinion. I wonder if our staff sees it that way.

He wouldn't be a day 1 starter. Best chance he has to start is backup to an injured vet.

Only way I take him is as a backup to a vet I was planning to use the next couple years.

So here's how I hope this goes down:  Indy trades up to #1 for Young/Stroud and the Texans snags the other.  The Seahawks take Levis.  We won't move up for AR; too risky.  Vegas takes AR.

With all the first round QBs gone we snag Hooker in the 2nd.  I'll be happy with that.

Of the QB's in this draft he seems like the most safe pick. But Stroud/Young/Levis/AR are simply just more talented as QB's.

Stroud/Young/Levis/AR are simply just more talented as QB's but they not be there if the Panthers hold pat with their # 9 first rd pick.

    • Seven North Carolina players have entered the transfer portal or announced their intentions to enter so far today: Derek Dixon (6.5 PPG) Jonathan Powell (4.8 PPG) Kyan Evans (4.0 PPG) Zayden High (3.4 PPG) Isaiah Denis (1.9 PPG) Jaydon Young (1.8 PPG) James Brown (1.2 PPG)
    • As long as we have DB, odd man fronts are the way to go for us. We want to line DB up between the guard and tackle (4i-tech) because of how quick he is off the snap and his punch on the guard off the snap. If anyone is wondering why he pretty much has to be doubled (or combo blocked) just about every snap, its because he is lined up in that spot in our odd man front. If we change to an even front, it becomes a lot harder to have DB play the 4i-tech.  Not sure if I would say Evero likes smaller NTs - I wouldn't call Bobby Brown a small NT by any sense. I think we run a 1-tech NT, so they are usually getting double teamed (or combo blocked) by concept alone. I actually think Bobby Brown did a pretty good job of eating blocks and being positionally sound on most runs at him (not his fault we were rocking ass LBs last year + Wharton being god awful). The bigger problem came on the toss plays/outside runs where DB wasn't able to blow it up in the backfield (i.e., the Bills game). Lloyd should help with the run D and getting a rangy LB in the draft will definitely help. There are also some good 1-tech DTs (and 0-techs) that can be instant day 1 starters for us in the draft.
