Wrong. If anyone on that staff considers Will or AR then they should all be fired immediately and Tepper should be stripped of his team. Let’s not be dumb, the entire world already thinks we’re going to fug this up.

This is Cam Newton on the cover of SI with Gabbert and Locker vibes. Draft Bryce, be great. It ain’t that hard.

It's all due diligence. Even if we're not interested, someone else could be and willing to make us a ridiculous offer to get to 1. Half of what we do is real, half is smokescreen, half is misdirection and the other half is a lie.

Uh...... show me one place where I said they should be considering Levis or AR?

I just said they should be meeting with them and doing their homework on them because it's their job to do so.  I'm not saying go and do the research on Hooker anymore, that ship sailed when we traded up to #1.

And yes, while it's 100% going to be either Stroud or Young, the future of this franchise rides on this decision, to not do your due diligence just as a backup and to be safe, then you're really not doing your job.

What happens if the Colts get desperate, offer us #4, #35, their next 3 years of 1sts, and Pittman on top?

I've long said trading back shouldn't even be in the discussion, you take your top ranked guy and call it a day.

But if they got stupid and offered that to us, I'm absolutely taking that offer, hoping whichever QB falls to #4 works out, and if not, between our picks and the Colts picks, we'd be able to move up as needed in the next few years to get someone else while still having picks/players to spare.

    • this     I never cease to be amazed at the number of people who will run up their blood pressure to get to the grocery store 30 seconds faster or are racing to get to work like it won’t be there at 8:02.   The only thing I’ve ever done that I think added more years to my life besides quitting smoking, was to learn to go with the flow behind the wheel.
    • The term you're looking for is "malinger(ed)", and he didn't.  I'm not sure why Panthers fans act like jaded ex girlfriends.  The dude is clearly injury prone as his time in San Fransico also proves. It's not like he got to San Fran and stopped having problems.
    • My long and rambling post:   The guy is all heart, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he came back even better next year. He’s exactly the guy you lock up. The money won’t ever change the way he plays.  It was a big fumble, but what 1,000 yard back fumbles once in an entire season?  Pride. This team is FINALLY seeing guys who obviously take the game very seriously. Hunt, Chuba, Thielen, Brown, Horn (CB), Coker, Bryce (IMHO). Bye bye, Spider-Man. I don’t see these dudes being OK with teammates half-assing practice or in games. I can see Brown and Horn coming over to talk to somebody.  Good team? Ummm, maybe, but will still likely lose more close games than they win unless this last draft turns in to LOB part 2. That’s a stretch.  Pretty good/decent team. Yes. They finished the season as a pretty good team. I know I sound like a broken record harping back to it, but going in to ATL and putting a 40 burger on them en route to an OT win. A bad Panthers team would have had their brakes beaten off. We’ve seen it.  Rose colored glasses on and bonging a 40 of hopium: There are watershed moments that occur that change the course of franchises, both good and bad. If Fox doesn’t pull Rodney at halftime, the epic journey that was 2003 never happens. On the negative side, Cam taking that one hit from Watt was the end of any and all Panthers relevancy and we’ve been the biggest losers in all of pro sports as a result. Watershed moments. LOB draft. Vinny goes down and the goat is born.  Will the ATL game be the spark that this franchise has desperately needed? Could it be that they hit the mega million jackpot with Princley and Scourton as eat QBs for breakfast? Sure would be nice having 2 all-pro edge guys on the cheap for the next 4 years.  A lot of unknowns, but at least it actually feels  fun again.
