With the Masterclass course Fitt has been putting on, shows how inept Rhule was

The guy was worse then a buy here pay here car dealer.

Look at the body of work Fitt has done in one off season versus when he has to deal with an imbecile who had final say on personnel

Rhule had a mysterious sway over him.He was some kind of football spingolly...

I like the moves being made on paper but we gotta see how they translate to the field.

This all day. Folks have been hyping Fitterer from day one. That's all well and good but now is his time to validate that. It's going to take 1-2 seasons to truly assess the results.

It will be interesting seeing how many people give credit where credit is due to Fitterer instead of trying to tie the albatross that was Rhule around his neck. When Rhule signed it was made clear that he had total control (right down to what was posted on social media by the marketing department). Still, that didn't stop a lot of fans from trying to put that at Fitt's feet as well.

I'm very interested to see how much Fitterer adapts to this current coaching staff. We'll get to see what the consistencies are and be able to better determine what Fitterer values while also getting a cross-sectional look into what Reich is looking for as well.

Going to be a fun few seasons!

I sincerely just hate stubborn loyalty to where it becomes a fault. We saw it a lot with Rivera and (initially, honestly I thought Rhule was proactive) Rhule became masterclass of “the answer is so obvious but I won’t adjust”. Hopefully (and I think it’s probable) Reich makes sensible adjustments.

Also just realized our last 3 coaches last names begin with the letter R.

I think you're a tad bit premature with this thread.

Let's see how the FAs do. Not to mention the QB pick - who absolutely cannot be anything but fantastic, or Fitterer should be fired.

I agree. I am hoping we draft the right guys and I think we did a decent job of plugging holes but the Chark, Thielin and Hurst threads make me feel like we signed AJ Brown and Kelce.

We’ve gotta lot more to do and I don’t feel like any of the FA weapons are long term options and I’ll be honest, I’m not sold on Marshall. I’m not sold on a guy with 1 career TD that came when we were down 42-7 and Cincy cleared their benches.

We still need to do way better than Fitterer has done in the draft so far. Don’t give me the it was all Rhule either because even in this thread Fitterer is still getting full credit for the OL build, can’t have it both ways. He can turn me into a fan by actually hitting it in the draft. Iky and Horn were 6th and 8th and Horn’s injuries have really hurt us. Beyond that, we have one OK, but replaceable starter in two drafts, which is about as Hurney as you get. We need more from our picks.

    • I think the first 3 picks will be defensive players this time. At least that's how the draft is falling this year. I would not be shocked at all if our 1st pick is the number one safety in the draft. It appears he will be right there for the taking.
    • Man oh man. That 8-9 record without a playoff berth puts at 13 if I recall, ahead of both Atlanta and TB with their 8-9 records, due to our weaker SOS.   We might have been in range to deal for that guy. I hope he doesn’t last to 8. And I hope some AFC team picks him.
    • Cool. I am not wanting to debate or argue it. It is mostly my preferences. But a couple of things:  I just don’t think he sees the middle of the field well. But besides that I would rather spend a 1st round pick at different offensive positions if we went offense, otherwise we have neglected defense something fierce the last few years. Last 1st rounder was Horn. That’s like 5 years ago now.   Investments… gee the last 4 drafts we have used a 2, a 2, a low 1st and a top ten pick on WR. Bryce has been here three years, three of those picks were specifically for him.  And assets, I don’t think you are counting the haul we gave for the QB position. That counts and it was huge.   Add that up and add the Burns cap space we freed up when we traded him. We bought two guards and used the savings on them. Not on the defense.  I mean, that is a lot of investment in the offense when you put all that in a sack and weigh it.    peace. Appreciate your post.
