Why should it not be a surprise? He’s opted for Matt Ryan and Philip Rivers the past two seasons. Doesn’t scream RPO to me. He seems to value efficiency and arm more than legs.

Luck had his second highest ypg, highest completion % and lowest rushing totals of his career in Reich.  Pretty clear he favors a straight pocket passer that can move if necessary

Also why are people assuming RPO involves the QB running? It's usually a hand off/one read pass option

Bingo.

Watch UNC's offense at the college level to see a classic RPO offense. The majority of RPO plays is the QB reading the defense at the mesh point with the RB before deciding to let the RB keep it or pull it and throw.

A lot of people downplay Strouds processing and understanding of the game, not sure why?

I dont think they downplay it as much as saying that Young is elite at it.  Stroud's processing can also be a little scary because outside of the GA game he wasnt nearly as good at processing if the play broke down or if his early read wasnt there.  I dont think hes slow at processing, i just think its one of Young's main strengths.

    • win or lose the trolling and shitposts will be superb
    • I love  almost everything  we did in the offseason but we still have Bryce.  They have to be favored.     Sorry I just can’t see him as an asset yet.  His first chance to prove me wrong.    And WIliams was a LOT better last year than 2024.  He will probably still be getting better before he hits his plateau.
    • Outside of both having very good straight line speed, I don't see much in common. Chark was mostly a play action Chuck it deep type of receiver. Brazzell, while raw with route running, is fully capable of running most routes. He is way better at using his body to shield defenders from the ball than chark and does a better job attacking the ball and creating a wide catch radius. Agree Brazzell will need to prove he can beat the press and I imagine he will see a lot of it when he is on the field. I still think he has quite a bit of development to go through (particularly with his route running, press beat techniques, and reading zone coverage), so I don't expect to see him on the field much this year (barring injuries)
