ESPN’s Matt Miller: “There's a lot of like for C.J. Stroud there, but Bryce won the entire organization over.”

Ugh thanks a lot Tepper for making us trade up and take the best quarterback in the draft

Yeah it's not like it's a left field pick. We're picking the general consensus best prospect and QB in the draft. I think it would be more worrying if they decided to go in another direction out of fear of the unknown and settled for potentially good (Stroud) instead of potentially great (Young).

He’s the best QB but he’s not the best prospect. Carter is a better prospect. Robinson is a better prospect. I’d argue Anderson is a better prospect than Young.

Amazing how in a time of excitement and promise…. People still choose to be miserable.

keep pounding on the huddle has turned into keep pouting

People were crucifying fans for not liking the teddy signing man there's two sides to that

People that aggressively fug with fans for having a dissenting opinion are just as bad

Yeah I think I’d have those 3 ahead of him I go back and forth with Anderson. Carter is such a good prospect he’ll still go top 10 with as bad of an offseason as he has had which is impressive.

Bijan is the best prospect from a talent perspective, but he is the worst of the first round prospects from a value perspective.

Back in March Schefter tweeted that David Tepper loves Bryce Young. Then you see the photos of Mrs. Tepper it's clear they had their preference all along. Is Tep directing them who to pick? No. But when you have two prospects who are close and it comes down to which one to pick it helps that your boss who pays your salary loves that one. I'll trust they are making the right pick there isn't anything else to do.

But I will say the folks who are posting these copium quips remind me of when the huddle was rationalizing the Kyle Allen hype machine and trying to convince themselves Teddy Bridgewater and Sam Darnold just need more time.

Maybe let's just allow BY to get on the field and show us something 🫡

Something I overlooked, Tepper only went to Strouds and Young’s pro days, we tipped our hand weeks ago.

Yet you typed it out in belief that these professionals would overlook anything.

So you're imply stupidity,  and spreading stupidity at the same time.

Congratulations!

If you could restate that in English I may have a response. Otherwise...

Congratulations!

when the owner travels with you to pro days and the owners wife is giving hugs to prospect it may influence things a tad dontyathink?

Well technically he was the only one short enough for her to hug, so…

Also from Joe Person this morning

i think they went into the pro day tour with the intention of having an open mind about all four, but there was already a contingent of people within the organization (not owners) who were sold on Young already. CJ was thought of highly and they liked him, but Young was the one (as i've found out over the past couple weeks, contrary to my impression was that they liked CJ the most) that they had in front pretty much the whole time. i think any discussion they had was, especially after the trade, "we think Young is the guy, but try and convince us otherwise" and they just couldn't do it. all signs kept pointing back to Young as the best QB prospect.

They were comfortable, from what i've heard, with one other choice when they were sitting at 9, but when they got to #1 there was really only 1 guy they felt good at all about.

I wanted Stroud, but I’m extremely happy with the very thorough process we’ve used to arrive at out pick. It feels like we haven’t left any stones unturned and I also think we have a very strong front office and coaching staff. It has been proven over and over again that Tepper is asking the tough questions without dictating the action, which is exactly what you want. This is without doubt a decision made by Fitterer and Reich, if you think otherwise you are just in denial. Young seems to be the pick and this is the most excited I’ve been in a long time for the Panthers.
