Official NFL 2023 Draft Discussion

A lot of folks are probably surprised to see Josh Downs still available but I'm not. He's a terrific NFL slot prospect but he's a slot only guy at the NFL level and those guys generally max out at mid-2nd round value and it's not uncommon at all to see the best slot prospect come off the board in the 3rd. Factor in the durability concerns and I would've honestly been surprised to see him drafted by now.

Tennessee picking Will "Connecticut bred" Levis over Big Cody is a travesty. If Cody would not fit in and within a year become Mayor of Nashville or Levis bust and get sent out on rails were a bet.  I'm taking Cody being a long time contributor over Levis being a Post-apocalypse warlord of the local populist dogma as a bet too.  But anything is possible. But how bout Branch THERE to be selected?  That's the dog I'm pulling for. LeVIS and his entourage were out once they agent sayed no one is calling and nobody in this area of the draft is super needy for a "developmental head case" QB.  OUT they go.

    • Bill Polian and Bill Lekas on Chalk Talks SiriusXM radio this morning.  Polian needs to retire (again). First he talks about Andy Dalton as our backup and then suggests trading down to get Sadiq. Clueless. At least he brought up the hole losing Ashawn Robinson caused.
    • And you know this how? Stay in your lane, junior. I'm pretty sure I'm a lot older than you, am a whole lot more experienced with life, and have watched football in earnest probably longer than you've been alive. I agree, but I was talking directly about injuries. As far as the economics, I'm assuming that Moton would have to take a pay cut and would probably be compelled to if he wants to stay in Charlotte. He seems like a thoughtful and practical guy. He knows that he's getting older and realizes the nature of the business. Hell, last time there were were questions on whether he would be here the last season. Dan and Brandt were dialing up the pressure. I don't think they're going to go into any type of contractual extension discussions without having a backup plan--i.e., a person that will appear to be Moton's replacement. And, to be honest, that person may be Moton's replacement depending how things go. But, I get the impression that Moton wants to be in Charlotte (unless he's developed some undying desire to chase a championship somewhere else).
    • It would be pretty fun with something like this. 3 on 3 the first 5 minutes, 2 on 2 the next 5 minutes (after a stoppage), then 1 on 1 (after a stoppage) the rest of the way. I just feel like this would be equal parts entertaining and chaos to watch
