UDFAs the Panthers signed are better than the players they drafted. Who is running this comedy of errors?

You truly are crazy…it’s decided

I have no idea where they will land, but I see 5 or so who have a chance---I know some will go to the PS and others will be put on IR, but people like Barno, Smith, Hubbard, Henderson, Taylor, etc. need to step up or step out.

The word is out--3 Edge players, 3 CBs---blood in the water.

Imnot sure what more you could ask from Hubbard… he averaged almost 5 yards per carry on less than 100 carries. He also had a handful of clutch moments last year, much better than what we saw his rookie year.

barno and smith were rookies last year… barno showed promise the last two games of the year and Brandon smith will be awesome

this year.

My feelings about Hubbard:  we need a good pass blocker and pass catcher at RB--I would like for him to catch passes to him--with Young, the checkdown will be a play---he needs to catch the passes.  We talk about the OL protecting Bryce a lot, but the RB is the last line of defense on some pass plays--I see Hubbard as being 1 dimensional.  I was not clear.

My point about the others--compete.  It makes you better.

Only thing I noticed is his 40 is a little slow for his size.  I am really suprised he wasn't drafted.

Redmond was a four-star recruit out of Midwest City, signing with the home-state Sooners. He played in just three games his freshman year (six tackles, 2.5 for loss), missing time as he suffered from blood clots. Redmond returned to start four of 13 contests in 2019, leading OU with 6.5 sacks among his 23 total stops, 11 for loss. He opted out of the 2020 season due to COVID-19 concerns and then missed five games with a knee injury in 2021, though he made an impact when starting seven of eight appearances (19 tackles, eight for loss with 3.5 sacks). Redmond started eight of 12 games played in 2022, posting 23 tackles, 10 for loss with four sacks and four pass breakups. He opted out of the team's bowl game to prepare for the draft. -- by Chad Reuter

Slow? Second best DT time. 4.81 for a 290+ lb guy is not slow at all. This seems like a solid pickup.

What’s your criteria production or just your projection for each player?

True. I think he could be faster. If he will play as an edge he needs to lose 40 lbs.

    • What?!?!?! Chark's 1,000 yard season was 4 years before he played for us and he only had 525 yards in 15 games as our #1 WR.  Dude has 3,100 yards in 7 seasons, he's the literal definition of a JAG and you think he is better than half our current WR room? T-Mac is literally already better than Chark was at his peak, which again, was years before he ever even put on a Panthers uniform, and there is a real argument to be made that XL and Coker were both better as rookies than Chark was for us in his one season here.
    • Im glad we're starting low. It's nonsensical to put us at 28 IMHO based on objective things IMHO (I think 21-24) is far more appropriate but whatever. Washington was at the bottom last year FWIW.  In 2003, Sports Illustrated said our best chance to win the division was to transfer to the ACC. In 2015, everyone wrote us off as a team that snuck into the playoffs with a losing record in 2014 and lost our best WR in TC (Kelvin Benjamin). All these videos are fodder for conversation, but this prediction has no more validity than saying the Panthers are making the SB bc we're starting the season against the Jaguars again. If Bryce plays like he did down the stretch we will end up the season just fine. This roster is much better than it has been the last 2 seasons. No one knows who any season will ultimately end up, but this team is finally being built in the right way, and the idea that this roster can't compete this year is as insane as being it was when we were gaslit in 2023 that we were a rookie QB from winning the division with that roster.
