I wonder if we have enough to pay him? He definitely will not come cheap unless he cuts us a home town discount

Do we have enough to pay him? Yes.

Are we willing to overpay a lot more than the contenders? No I don't think so.

AZ, which doesn’t have much talent, was willing to let him walk for nothing. If it was 5 years ago, I may be willing to overpay to land him. I’m not sure what he has shown the last few years is worth doing that now.

There definitely is some injury concern with him - he's pretty much missed half the season the past 2 seasons. Getting ready to be on the wrong side of 30.

Still think our best shot at ever getting Hopkins is for him to sign a 1 year deal with a top team to chase a ring, Bryce look good as a rookie, and then we sign him to a 2 or 3 year deal next offseason.

Our best SB window begins next season and lasts for 3 seasons while Bryce's rookie contract is on the cap, we need to make sure we have a true #1 WR next year to maximize our chances during that time.

cardinalsb_logo.gif Cardinals cut WR DeAndre Hopkins (updated May 27, 2023)
It's been rumored that the Cardinals have had DeAndre Hopkins on the trading block. With absolutely no leverage, Hopkins was released, as no one wanted to trade for a 31-year-old receiver with a massive contract. There will be lots of interest in Hopkins, however, now that he can be obtained at a cheaper price (and with no draft picks exchanged.)

Here are some teams that could sign Hopkins:

billsc_logo.jpg Buffalo Bills: The Bills drafted tight end Dalton Kincaid in the first round, but they're still in need of a receiver to play across from Stefon Diggs.

jetsc_logo.jpg New York Jets: The Jets had interest in signing Odell Beckham until Beckham grew impatient with the Aaron Rodgers trade stalling. They may target another veteran receiver instead.

chiefsc_logo.jpg Kansas City Chiefs: The Chiefs won the Super Bowl without a real No. 1 receiver, so it's not like they need Hopkins. I'm sure Patrick Mahomes wouldn't mind having him though!

ramsc_logo.jpg Los Angeles Rams: Hopkins may think the Rams are still a Super Bowl contender. He'd be wrong, but he would recognize the dire need the Rams have at receiver outside of Cooper Kupp.

cowboysc_logo.jpg Dallas Cowboys: Jerry Jones wanted to sign Odell Beckham Jr., so I imagine he'd have interest in Hopkins.

eaglesc_logo.jpg Philadelphia Eagles: The Eagles need a third receiver. An offense with Hopkins, A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith would be disgusting.

giantsc_logo.jpg New York Giants: The Giants have an improved offense, but they didn't find a No. 1 wideout for Daniel Jones.

Not that this means anything, but someone on twitter said Laviska followed Hopkins on social media. This off-season, it seemed like any wr that was signed started following our guys, this includes them following young before the draft as well. Again, it doesn’t always mean anything, but it’s still interesting. Of course, Laviska could have followed him a long time ago and someone is just stirring poo on online.

Who is Laviska and how is he connected to Hopkins?
