Luvu snubbed?

Well, he'll just have to do it again, or better.

But let's face it, we're a small market team that had a dead man walking as a head coach, then an interim head coach and what had been a mushy soft defense for a couple of years. No one was really looking at our defensive players at all.

Hopefully this will be a sit up and take notice year for the NFL when it comes to our defense. We need, desperately, to regain the strength and reputation that we've had in the past. And there's only one way to do it and that's with INTs, sacks and giving busted lips and black eyes to our opponents.

We, as a team, need to play the whole season like the first hit Thomas Davis would put on Jimmy Graham every time we'd play the Saints. He'd just knock the dogwater out of him and Graham would play scared the rest of the game. You could see him flinch every time Davis would make a quick move in his direction.

We've got to be like that every game this season.

Whew.... I didn't even know he did all that!! I keep forgetting about other pieces we added like Vonn Bell and Rowe too!! We have playmakers from front to back now and I think Luvu could very well cause havoc along with Chinn(moving closer  to the line) and others!! All that said to say, yes he got snubbed by looking at the other guys stats.

Not a single vote is inexcusable.  The Pro Bowl is supposed to be the "popularity contest" compared to the All-Pro selections which are supposed to be more reputable and merit-based and exempt from factors like market size.  So this is pretty disappointing...but hey the silver lining is that pragmatically speaking, these things can theoretically help keep his price tag lower for an extension lol.

Plus he plays for us 😕

(you don't necessarily get a lot of attention that way)

Here is hoping that is about to change.  Won't turn around in 1 year but for the 1st time ever, this team needs to have a winning season, then another and another.  While were are at it....take over the NFC South.

Yep. It'd be nice for the winning seasons to not be so...occasional 😕

Was an upstart player on a bad team, it’s understandable. If we do well and he maintains his level of play he’ll get some attention for sure.

It's understandable when it comes to Pro Bowl voting.  But the AP All-Pro voting is supposed to be above all that bad team/small market noise.

    • Jake in his prime was a gutsy QB. But just like with even someone like Cam. Father time is undefeated. It's very unfortunate we have a guy who is only 24 years old that has an equivalent arm to that. Absolutely blows my mind that our brain trust lacked the basic common sense to value arm talent when making a massive trade with ramifications for years to come. Unforgivable incompetence.
    • Jake, to me, will always hold a special place in my heart.  I really feel like for his era, he deserved way more love than he got, and should’ve had more than his one Pro Bowl.  He was a gamer with an underrated rocket arm. but let me tell you, after his Tommy John surgery, when he came back, I can’t remember who it was against, but it think it was a division game, he threw a ball that was supposed to be a throw away, as I think he was under pressure, and that poo floated forever and died right at the boundary where a defender ran over and picked it off.  One of the worst throws I ever saw.  His arm just wasn’t the same after the injury and surgery.  All that to say, that’s what almost every Bryce throw to the sidelines looks like to me.
    • And again, when watching him in college he had one distinct trait that I feel makes a franchise QB - on those plays when everything breaks down around him, he creates one on his own.  He doesn’t rely on or need everyone else.  That play last night on the final drive where he was getting sacked and threw it to Diggs before his knee hit the ground?  He does similar things all the time.  Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, etc., they all do it.  It’s what made Cam so special. but we picked a guy that’s the opposite of that.  He desperately needs someone else to make a play for him because he can’t.  Even that play yesterday on 4th down to Horn.  That wasn’t a great pass.  The defender was late and came down to make a play in the ball and Bryce threw it high and outside where Horn had to leave his feet and really use strong hands to catch it.  We relied on a 5’9” rookie playing in his first pro game to make THAT catch at THAT time bc of the early turnovers and a not great throw.  Crazy.
