Cam Peoples App State

Former App RB that is fast AND powerful. Had health issues in Boone. Was a HUGE reason they beat Texas A&M last year. Had great games vs ranked opponents in Miami UNC and Coastal. Guy shows up in big games.  When heathy he was the best player in the Sun Belt

Hoping he makes the team and has an Arian Foster type career.

When Cam Peoples is good, he's incredibly good. He actually has the all-time bowl record (319 yards in the 2020 Myrtle Beach Bowl). Definitely a team player with some health issues, but he's got a lot of natural talent.

One area he really needs to work on is the receiving game, though. He's not an asset in that department whatsoever.

I don't watch enough App games to know but is that a product of his lack of ability in that area or more a product of their offensive system? Some teams just don't really throw to RBs much. I meant just think back to Mike Shula. RBs were basically just treated as extra blockers in his offense. Hell, we all begged for screens until we were blue in the face when Cam was getting teed off on by teams blitzing us.

I won't get excited until I see him legitimately running with the big dogs. The highlights don't do anything for me to be honest. He's looking a little pedestrian among so-so competition. Perhaps it's a function of the offense, but they seemed to run him around the edge way too much, and it looks like to me that he just doesn't have that type of speed, or quickness in the flat. I see him as a PS guy at this point. I don't know who he'd beat out. We can just pull one of the TEs to play H-back or fullback when necessary.
