I live in San Antonio now, and they're building a new neighborhood down the street from me called Prescott Farms or Hills or some poo like that.  The street names are all famous Cowboys players.  They've got Aikman Pass, Prescott Way, Staubach Ct...poo like that

Is that for real?

I lived in McKinney (suburb of Dallas) when I was a kid in the 90s during their peak as a franchise. We moved down there from Maryland where my entire family were Redskins fans.

I did not fit in.

We didn't have wear your favorite sports team day, we had wear your cowboys gear day. They didn't read us children's books, they read us books about Cowboys players when they were children. There were so many kids in the area named after players/the area I knew like 4 kids named Dallas alone.

I apparently met Roger Staubach at some event while decked out in Redskins gear that my dad put me in on purpose. They wouldn't take a picture with me next to him.

It's a Cult down there.

Reminds me of my daughters at school here in Philly. They have Phillies Day, Eagles Day, etc. One of mine always wears Panthers and Braves gear on those days. I'm guessing she may buckle and join the crowd later on but for now she "loves" her Daddy's teams. My other girl likes my wife's teams (Eagles/Phillies) so she's out of the will.

    • Interesting topic.  I have had a few NFL friends and one told me that he could not work out or train unless the activities and facilities were approved. AI: In many NFL contracts, certain activities are restricted, and injuries sustained during those activities can lead to the voiding of contract guarantees or even the entire contract. These restrictions often include dangerous activities like skydiving, rock climbing, or even engaging in contact sports like boxing. Additionally, injuries sustained while working out at non-team facilities or during personal recreational activities may be classified as "non-football injuries," potentially impacting the player's compensation.    Having said that, I question the reason the person filming this was not helping.  Secondly, the decision to put it on social media makes it seem a bit prearranged.  I do not think this would violate his contract, but I do think it is a bit stupid on his part in that he could be injured.
    • Doesn't make it right.  And as you put it, you wanted to ban him from being country, which is essentially policing who he is as a person lol  I get protecting the "asset", but banning people from living their life is crazy. Russell Wilson likes to play helicopter pilot.  I would deem that WAY more dangerous.  Those things scare me.  I still wouldn't want to keep him from doing it if I were his boss.  I would just try not to think about it, haha.
    • Could do better could do worse. I've seen some people very indignant over bringing him back and I can absolutely relate to the sentiment. But it's just in a backup role. He's also a good locker room presence and an effort player so for a 1 year rental in a year where we aren't going to do much it's fine. This is a development year. And there will be options if need be at the trade deadline. Besides at the end of the day we all knew a signing like this was around the corner after how drafting Mark Williams ended. He should have been our franchise center for the next several years. I don’t put that failure on the Hornets.
