Von Miller: The Panthers were the better team

That's great for him to say. It's painful for me. I have been a long time Vikings fan and love Panthers fan too. 0-6 . I am over it though. Still love them! But, I thought we got out coached that game and knew it the first drive. Sometimes you have to grab opportunity by the throat.

I can deal with the loss in ‘03. I cannot deal with the loss in ‘15, so I block it out. We were supposed to win that shyt. Thankful Von validates that.

I remember at the start when the refs missed the call on the cotchery catch, my child’s mother looking over at me, saying the game was over. Refs weren’t going to let us win this game. She was right. That opener in 2016 was a travesty, and I still haven’t fully recovered after it.

Yeah I can agree with that. I also feel like much of the BS calls came from the refs and the league having bias against Cam. I think the fact that Cam wasn't an awe shucks try hard traditional QB rubbed the old crusty zebras the wrong way and chose not to protect him. Which just shows the lack of integrity on the official's part. Cam should have been able to be as unabashedly himself as he damn well please and you still call the game fair and square.

And if anyone thinks thats a tin foil hat theory, just look at what the refs did when they finally made PI challengeable. They essentially boycotted it and turned down every challenge despite the clear evidence overturning PI. These people don't like being told their wrong because they get high on power trips.

Believe me when I say the NFL didn't want a black QB that wasn't a Russell Wilson "uncle Tom" type of person being the star of the NFL. They just want their yes sir and be thankful for what you have type of minority QB.

I know I'm biased being a Panthers fan, but I don't think I've ever seen a QB get so few calls on penalty worthy hits in my life... The fact that Cam stayed healthy as long as he did is truly remarkable. I really wish he had a halfway competent staff while he was here 😩

Preaching to choir here. I've said the same thing for years. It's a real shame too. Cam deserved better and was ahead of his time.

I loved Cam's confidence and his ego. He brought pride and arrogance to the Panthers for the first time. He made us feel like we deserved to be winners and not have to ask for it. Shame on the NFL for allowing such a piss poor display. I hope Cam speaks out on it one day.

It always amazes me how so many white guys (as a white guy himself) absolutely hated cam because he was a kid at heart. The dude literally gave his all every single play and should deservingly have celebrated every first day on after all of the hits he took. Yet, every old fart hated him because of it...

I will say... I teach and it amazes me how many kids loved Cam from 2013-2018ish years. It really sucks that TJ Watt broke his shoulder 😡

I literally said the entire time that the Broncos were so CLEARLY the worst team we had played all playoffs. They didn't have any semblance of an offense whatsoever and were led by the worst QB in the NFL that season.

But, we had an inflexible coaching staff that couldn't stop beating their heads against the same wall.  And the absolute jobbing the NFL was giving us.

    • A winning record would be nice, but I still have us winning around the 6 to 8 game mark. Realistically we should beat the Jets and Saints, that gets us to 5 wins. After that, we have to face a lot of potential play off teams and our divisional opponents. I think we’ll win 1 or 2 of those games to take us to 6 or 7 wins, perhaps 8 wins if we can spring a further surprise.  Is that enough progress for head coach and QB? I’m not sure, it will depend on performances and output. That said, it’s nice to be back in a position where we are thinking about the play offs.
    • I would tend to agree about not falling into the trap and paying a below average QB, but sometimes situations can “force” a team to pay that QB. For example, if we play ourselves into a 9-8 like record, then what options will we have in the draft? Or do we avoid the draft and trade for or sign someone in free agency?  I’m not convinced by the 2026 QB draft class. There’s some intriguing prospects but no one that really screams “draft me”. I’m not sure we’ve got anyone really that stands out as a trade candidate or free agent signing. So although we might not want to commit a big money contract to Young, him playing well and showing progress might force the team’s hand.
    • Realistically we would be looking at no more than a mid round pick for Dowdle or Chuba. Are we really that desperate for a mid round pick? Not really. I would much prefer us utilise the two RBs in a 1-2 punch similar to how we used D-Will and Stewart. After all, Bryce is not Drew Brees. He won’t throw for 300+ yards and carry the team consistently as a passer. So having a strong running game with a 1-2 punch will be beneficial to him, and it will also be beneficial to the RBs because we can spell them and not overwork them.
