thats a unique preseason look, you are not going to see that a lot in preseason football.

When referring to the Jets defensive scheme

The quare is:

"you're not going to see that a lot in the SEC"

Both hits on Young were stunts and our second year OL did not pick them up (Ekwonu and Mays).  With better chemistry--this will not be as big a problem

Agree. These are learning opportunities. They were fooled and outschemed. That can be corrected. Unlike in the past when 3 of 5 offensive linemen were bull rushed into the QBs lap 1.5s after the snap!

And to add. Those stunts were on point! They are well coached with timing and depth.

Crazy how 3 years of a consistent system helps which the Jets now have.

Matt Rhule and consistency were never a thing.

Much more palatable than watching the tv film. Only thing I noticed for Bryce specifically is he probably could have hit Hurst for a couple 1st downs instead of trying the outside guys

I was thinking that perhaps on one throw, but Bryce may have been looking at the DBs possibly cutting underneath for an INT, or the fact that Hurst may have come up short.

the problem is that this isn't something you should have to deal with in your first preseason game.

every team has an agenda for each preseason game that may or may not include scheming. i really think the only reason the jets went hard was for team morale. we were just trying to get our guys out there and used to seeing a little action.

i'm not going to give the jets props for anything that they did on saturday because they were going after a team that wasn't in it to win it. panthers were in it for the reps.

I think people also forget this was their 2nd game, their agenda would be totally different than ours

it just wasn't a level playing field. neither team was playing for the same thing. that kind of makes the game a bit dangerous. it's easy to be blindsided when you're focusing on something else than the other team.

Right, no other way we go from bullying them in 11 vs 11 in practice to being embarrassed a few days later. O line has shown that they can be solid all of last year (except RG, but that wasn't the only position getting taken to the wood shed). We'll be OK  when it counts.🤞

Exactly, we've had some bad O-lines and they almost never get addressed until half way through the season. Week 1 Preseason its like flies on poo trying to get it fixed.

    • I would say that seems like an odd comment from Morgan, but at the same time it's almost impossible to find a college QB declaring for the draft to have less physical ability than BY so you can assume almost anyone you bring in would be your go to QB sneak/designed run guy.
    • Gronk is the best TE of all time, but he also played with Brady. Clarke was great, but had Peyton and in an era TE's didn't make crazy money. Kittle is great, but the two times he's made the SB, he was still on his rookie contract for one, and the other the 49ers had Purdy on a cheap rookie deal which help them build the rest of the roster. So again, it's not about not wanting an elite TE, of course it would be nice.  But realistically, in today's NFL, unless that elite TE with a top end TE salary is on a team with a GOAT level QB and/or other serious cap savings (i.e. key players on rookie deals), then I think it's not a good use of cap space.
    • This place was the poo pre tepper with tons of hilarious posters like phillyB. Joined in the 2000s during the 07 season and have been here bitching about this team since. but yeah its sadly been dying a slow death, every time I come to this site I am surprised its still up. I think the 2015 season was the absolute peak, the Panthers and this board especially just haven't "felt" the same since then. Igo should really sell the board since he clearly doesn't care anymore. Also, Reddit blows and the Bryce defenders on there need Jesus.
