Matt Corral has been cut

Here's the potential irony of drafting Corral...

Drafting Howell could have potentially saved Rhule's job and/or prevented us from selecting Bryce this year. Yes, we would have had a starting NFL QB, DJ Moore, and a lot of extra picks. BUT, even as a Tar Heel football fan, I think Bryce may have a better career than Howell, and it would not have been for the Panthers without Corral.

Bryce may end up being the GOAT - dude looks sharp. But I said the minute they drafted Corral; that the Panthers would be haunted by passing on Sam for Matt for a long time. I was labeled a homer and laughed at.

I for one hope we are able to bring him back as I actually think he'd be a great scout team QB for us, particularly with his mobility, something that can be hard to duplicate in prep for games each week.

Sure as hell won't be Dalton doing that, and yes, we'll absolutely add some QB onto the PS, I'd like it to be Corral with his familiarity with the team/staff.

@Wundrbread33 so much for your guy getting coached up.

Clearly this dude was not a NFL level QB. Wish him well hope he can develop somewhere else.

Little early to say, but most guys trying to make it at this level don’t make it.

I’ve liked his physical tools from the jump, but we know the game is more than that. Brandon Smith is another recent example. He’s a perfect madden linebacker, but little Sam Mills/Jon Beason were elite real life linebackers.

People lump Corral supporters with the “Young Lion” guy, but I just tried to be a counterbalance to the people writing him off after the debacle of how he was handled last preseason.

Like all former panthers, I wish him the best, whether on our PS or on another.

    • https://x.com/4thand1show/status/1975274357174784272?s=46   saw this this morning and came to post something similar. I didn’t just love the team or the wins, I loved those dudes man. They put everything they had out there every Sunday. You didn’t see a rep where anybody on that field was low effort in that era, and if you did they were quickly sent packing.
    • …is Brycen Tremayne with 108 yards. Not sure what that tells us but I imagine it’s some sort of gumbo consisting of the following: - Bryce can’t push the ball downfield  - contrary to what many were saying this offseason, the wr still needs a lot of work.  - we need Coker back badly.  - Brycen is pretty good! Congrats to that young man! Curious to hear other’s read on it. Was a pretty surprised to see he had more yards than anyone other than Tet and thought that was symptomatic of our issues on offense.
    • I don’t think many fans would have guessed the Chiefs and Ravens would be where they are right now. Same goes for some surprise packages like the Colts, I’m not sure many would have put money on them being top of their division after five weeks. It’ll be interesting to see if this continues!   Not necessarily. The Chargers have lost both starting OL and their 1st and 2nd choice RBs. They fell apart against Washington. The Broncos have just beat the Eagles, so they’d be my favourite in that division, but they are still only one win ahead of the Chiefs. All the Chiefs need is a couple of results to go their way and they’ll be right in the fight for the AFC East. I think that division is going to be very close and probably not a 12 or 13 win division like predicted. Unless of course the Broncos kick on.
