It seems to me that lately if you are going to be negative, you get a free pass on whatever you say. But if you say something positive, you need to cite sources and take a polygraph. lol

 

When you absolutely have to be right. Using your opinion as fact is a Huddle staple.

Wilks did a good job of adapting his philosophy to the players he had available. He wasn't able to wait till he got the guys he needed for his system. I honestly dont like to hear that, Reich has experience and some success as a head coach. He should be capable of doing the same.

Dude is nuts. He complains every post and poos all the time. It’s amazing how negative he is while trying to act like the beacon of positivity. Oh well, some people just don’t have sense. If it bothers you that much and you post about it all the time, it is time to walk away.

I'm hoping that's the case, too. By all rights, we should be better positioned than we were last season, especially at the mid-way point where Wilks took over.

Wilks got handed a crap team and really made them competitive, something we hadn't been in four or more years.

Reich got handed that team, got to prune it a bit, got the very first pick in the NFL draft and had an offseason with reasonable cap space to build what he could from what he needed. He also got to assemble what had to be a stellar cast of coordinators and assistant coaches, something Wilks had instead to make do with who was left.

I hope, and I really feel, that Reich can make the most of this. We've got a really young but ready team and the NFCSouth has never seen so much turnover and turmoil.

However, if the team nosedives, I think it might be fair to take a moment and wonder if we had our man on the roster before and made a terrible mistake.

we aren’t dramatically improved on O.  Our starting RB was CMC and out starting WR was DJ Moore in that first win.  The second game was basically the Nebraska game that was on TV last night and should never be spoke of. 

And going to a rookie QB over bad vets isn’t really improvement.  It’s its own thing.  Young is going to struggle early because he is a rookie learning.  Not because he is bad. 

Nope. I'm not letting our supposed "savant" of a draft pick off the hook.  He's diagnosing plays like "15 year vet" and "leading offensive meetings"... he'd better deliver.

      TMac to finish up Feels good after pads came on. Physicality is a little different, playstyle is a little different. Refs let the players play, so he has to earn his stripes to get calls and just has to be better playing through contact. Focusing on staying confident and listening to coaches. Not much has changed for him, still trying to be his authentic self. Was asked about boxing practice he was seen doing. He's done that since he was a kid because his dad was a boxer and taught his siblings. Was the youngest and got beat up the most, but now he's the fourth of sixth children. Boxing helps with his cardio and being reactive with his hands to the ball + DB. Admits to struggling the first couple of days, hats off to the DB corps for making him better every single day but had his best day on Wednesday. Even the best get got. Just have to remain confident in preparation and abilities. Confidence will take you only so far, and that's where his resilience plays a factor. XL is authentic and great to have in the room. Can rely on him to be the same guy every day. They make each other better. Everybody feeds off of each other and when one person wins they all win. Happy to be a part of the receiver room. Was asked about how he was laughing harder than everybody else at XL getting his feet in the water off the back of the boat: "Man he needs to be stopped bro... He can't be serious but he was serious. It's all good." Playing against the increased amount of press he's facing in practice is helping him get more physical. His job is to catch the ball, so if it touches his hand he has to come down with it. Only catches with one hand if he needs to, but that gives the QB a bigger catch radius. Had a pregame routine where he did a 360 one-handed catch, but doesn't do it anymore. Working on being a pro: Getting into the facility early and getting treatment, eating better, etc. Just wants to win re: rookie goals. Anything he can do to help the team win. "I'm looking for to the season man and keep pounding."

      DJ Wonnum up next Felt the defense came out ready to work at all levels and took over practice. New standard around here. Young guys have to know they're coming in to work. Last year was not the standard. Nic and Princely are fun. Different personalities but loves what they bring to the room. Sky is the limit for them. Nic sits next to Wonnum, Princeley sits next to Jones II. Allows them to be better mentors. Feels great and ready to go Incoom's athleticism allows him to bend and get low even to compensate for not being the biggest guy. Can set the edge. EDGE guys are helped when the ILBs can get home because it allows them to be a little more free while still in scheme. DB being back means his dominance is back. Can set the edge from the 3 or wherever he's at to make the runs bounce to the EDGE guys. Winning mentality and standard this year. Championship level from practice to how you live off of the field. Accept greatness and excellence with guys wanting to come to work every day. Not settling for anything less. Been in guys' shoes that are fighting for roster spots so he knows how to address them. Remembers not knowing what's next, especially as a rookie. Have a clear mind and ask the older guys a lot of questions. Has a good relationship already with Pat Jones II due to knowing each other and talking football all of the time. Can make hand gestures and know immediately what to adjust. Taking care of his body and excited to start the season. Getting it acclimated to football again by being able to tackle and bring players to the ground. Didn't know they were playing live tomorrow. Don't tell me it'll be "thud." Browns next week will allow them to hit somebody else and get a feel of what a different team is doing. Also allows the team to see where they're at on offense and defense. Ready to play football. Not worried about the QB matchup for Cleveland, going to play hard regardless of who is back there.
