Maybe, in the future, we don't shout how important a player is...

Yes, because the rest of the league had no idea who Burns was, and how important he is to our defense.

Some of the poo Y'all talk yourselves into has zero logic.

I’d have no issue with this if we didn’t turn down two firsts for him.

It doesn’t matter if he wants more than we feel comfortable giving him, once that was known we had no negotiating power and we have no option but re-signing him.

Just get it done, if we passed up 2 firsts and then can’t/don’t re-sign him then people need to be fired immediately.

This is why I don’t trust this team. Some of us are old enough to remember how poorly they handled Julius Peppers and I swear to God I’m done with this team if he holds out or we only get a compensatory 3rd for him.

Can't help but think of Peppers.

We were in a fugged up situation in which I think the decision we made hurt the team.

Not sure what we should have done, but what we did hurt us.

We should have traded him for a shitload of picks.

He said he did not want to play here and egotistical business man JR thought he could convince him and at least buy him like a dumbass. So he was tagged.

The first half+ of games he played the year he was tagged he literally walked through plays. Until I think it was Thomas Davis who called him out big time.

Magically after that he became his usually monster player. Then after the season he just left. Zero compensation.

It was comical. This is how an egotistical owner, especially a hands on one, ruins a team. Tepper os even worse than JR, and I never thought I’d say that.

    • Umm yeah. When did he get it done at the right time? I seem to remember a 4-6 finish and needing Atlanta to win our way into the playoffs but whatever.
    • I mean....no lies detected. See above. We have traded a fortune to draft a guy #1 overall that people have lowered standards for to the point that not playing like Jimmy Clausen and looking like a poor man's Kyle Allen occasionally is worthy of a contract extension making him one of the highest paid QB's in the league. That is cope on steroids.
    • summary: "let's talk about your draft, what did you think about Freeling" Dan:   guys with a huge upside, can come in and compete to start.  High ceiling "he does what for your offense?" Dan:   it's hard to find left tackles, guys that big and athletic.  We have Icky coming off an injury, we signed Walker, I believe your offensive line can never be too strong.  If we're going to win the game, it's gotta be up front on both sides of the ball, so we make a point of emphasis on making both sides of the front as strong as possible. "how many mocks did you see Monro falling to you." Not many times, left tackles are gonna go a lot earlier than when we took him.  We want to add the best player, in free agency or the draft"  that's our philosophy, to get the best players possible. "Hunter and Brazzell." Dan:  we followed the board.  Lee we felt very highly of him , super strong.  Brazzel so flexible and loose, can open the verticle.  Will Lee we held in high regard. "you take a look at your receiver room, Coker, my goodness, your offensive rookie of the year in Tet.  Lost Rico, but there is Jonathan Brooks. " Brooks coming off two knee injuries, he worked his way back, looking great, fully healthy, will help in pass and run game.  Icky, not sure when he's coming back but we're excited about both "plan on extending Bryce" we'll keep talking, will keep internally.  We believe in him, has such a great grasp of Canales and offense, has improved every year. "he's clearly come back from the benching, the arrow is trending up, where does he feel" Bryce knows where we stand with him, when and if a deal gets done, he knows we feel great with him, we'll get something done at the right time. "if this a prove it situation?" everyone in the building has to prove it, has to earn it. Tmac was everything we wanted, his work ethic, he's so big and talented, but he puts the work in, and is a great teammate. "your level of expectation, the building's level of expectation for 2026 "our goal is to win the division every year, we know we have to earn it.  we have to put the work in every day, proving it on the practice field, and our  guys know that." "schedule" we haven't opened at home in 2 or 3 years.  We love prime time games, hope we get some "
