We have 55 Mil next year to spend. Cut Thomas and restructure Moton and the amount goes up. We can afford to pay him next year. The salary cap keeps going up and up so paying a star 23-25 mil a year wont seem as high in 2-3 years as the market continues to reset. We don't need to let that man leave. He's clearly a leader in the locker room and stays out of trouble off the field. The whole point of having a QB on a rookie deal is to build around him. Not let talent walk.

FACTS!

We have a couple like that. Not only a Cap expert, but a top-notch talent evaluator as well. How they are not working in the NFL is baffling. They can coulda-woulda-shoulda with the best of em I tell ya what.

Toomers is a cap nut, if he had it his way a team would be 200m below cap and devoid of any talent.  Sad thing is he isn't even a panthers fan.  Don't know why a Steelers fan would visit this site as much as he does

i want a HEALTHY CAP and two picks for my mock draft so you IDIOTS can see how smart I am and maybe I’ll get hired or something by a blog because I’m a scouting SAVANT idk

Say what you will, but he knows his poo. I’ve gotten in a few pissing matches with him and came up on the short end each time.

Meanwhile @mrcompletely11 is busy spamming poo emoji's on my posts.

Yet he calls me a "kid" every chance he gets.smh

You have 3 choices. 1. Think of him as comic relief and don't let him get to you. Every time you respond to him the terrorists win. 2. Ignore him completely. 3 Report him and see what happens. Me? I don't feed trolls. So, I ignore him completely. Well, except for occasionally throwing some poo his way. That really fires him up. lol

I thought we should have taken the Rams offer for Burns last year.  At the time, we had just traded CMC and the indications were that we were tearing things down and starting over.  If that is the goal, then anybody making big bucks or about to make big bucks gets moved for draft capital or younger players.  Especially when you don’t have a QB to build around.

But, with the decision to not take that offer, we stopped short of a complete tear down.  We basically tore down the skill positions on offense, which was complete when we included Moore in the deal with Chicago.

Once we decided to keep Burns, the discussion of big money was an absolute certainty.  How big is what is in front of the jury.  But you don’t turn down a couple of firsts, quite likely high firsts, and what was destined to be a high second for a guy and then let him walk in FA a year and a half later (unless he really sucks in that year and a half).  Especially when you then make a defensive scheme switch that certainly looks like it plays to his strengths.

Personally, I want to see him in an NFL 3-4 defense (or defense based on that) before I get out the checkbook.  In other words, he needs to “prove it” this year.  It being that he can play the "whole" position.  But given the deal we walked away from, we are committed to getting out the checkbook if he proves it.

Somebody could throw something stupid at him, but otherwise, that decision was made last October.

We have the best pass rusher we've had since Peppers. Hard truth.

He is slight, so his run defense will never be as good as a bigger pass rusher.

His market value has NOTHING to do with his run defense.

Elite pass rushers get paid. There is no way we could even replace his production.

So all this, he's not worth it, needs to end, because the simple truth is the NFL values him far more than anyone else ever will.

It is absolutely in our best interest to sign him now. His value will be even higher in 6 months.

He’s on a 5th year so has to play if he wants to hit FA lol. Otherwise it’s 5th +tag + tag again possibly. Doubt he wants that. Unfortunately he’s delusional. Let’s call up niners and see if they want to do a bosa burns straight up trade. Brian seems to think he’s just as valuable, maybe niners agree

We would have to do Burns + a 1st at least to get Bosa, even then it probably doesnt get done, they would probably want more.

Bosa is a DMVP, Burns is just a pass rusher.

    • Never been. Going to a concert there Thursday night. Decent tailgating opportunities in the parking area or no? I see people are going to the beer hall to grab a beer to get their parking validated. Seems like a good plan to me. I'd like to smoke a brisket and do a decent spread of food but I just don't know if the parking setup allows for it.

    • Bryce also has a degree in psychology. He has an uncanny ability to compartmentalize things in a way that allows him to enter his second NFL season with optimism that he can still be the player who was worthy of being the No. 1 pick of the 2023 draft despite the kind of rookie year that has destroyed others in his position. Young credits that in part to his past. He graduated from the University of Alabama in three years with a degree in psychology. His father was a therapist in the mental health field for 20 years. His mother was a special education teacher, and his grandfather was a psychologist. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/40334565/bryce-young-developing-leader-panthers-year-2
