Burns vs Bosa

Honestly I was surprised there isn’t a bigger gap.  If Burns played for 49ers, Cowboys or Steelers he would be considered “elite”.  His sack numbers could have been bigger if he finished them (how many times did we see him just fail to wrap up).  I think his best days are ahead of him and we need to pay him.

This is like in Pawn Stars.  Guy goes in looking for 28m, they call their expert in and they say it's worth 35m. Now the guy wants 35m.  We will be lucky to get him at 28 now

You shouldn't pay Bentley prices for a Mercedes because your neighbor paid top dollar for a Bentley. We have a nice Mercedes but I don't want it for Bentley money.

It would be hilarious (and enjoyable) if Burns had a 17 sack year and we get another reason to hate Rhule.

I love Burns, even if he’s “2nd tier.”

For having inconsistent team performance over the years, it is wild how we got used to having “Bosa” type guys pretty consistently. The Greene/Lathon years, Peppers, Jenkins (for a couple years), Smitty, Beason, Kalil, Kuechly, CMC…

We have had guys for most of the history of the franchise who you could consider top 3, if not the best, in the league at their craft.

Is that why some aren’t satisfied with Burns? I don’t know. Maybe not the whole reason, but maybe that’s part of it.

    • We're definitely not going to get the benefit of the whistle anytime soon. Teams have certainly been getting more physical with us since that first Pistons loss. We responded with many upcoming wins by playing very physical basketball ourselves. That's what it's going to take. If it means some fouls along the way so be it but the team has to set the tone. But either way we need more offense closer to the rim. We're right there with GS for most 3PA. And the Warriors are also backing their way into a play in game. We shouldn't be wanting to emulate that.
    • Honestly this feels like a coaching problem. They have a certain "type" with "flaws" that they believe can be coached, the issue is mingo, XL, and others have not took to this "coaching". I thought the one group panthers would excel in would be WR, given Dave, brad, and Moore backgrounds( WR coach was a solid NFL WR). Just a wealth of WR coaching, but........ I also feel BYs confidence in XL is one of the main issue, its their relationship. I think BY trust the following- tremble, Tmac, Coker and that's all(maybe new Metchie) . There was a vid and XL and BY were repping together. I do feel if you put XL with about any of the top QB, you'd see some good numbers at times and you'd see a NFL WR.
    • It's cooled off because teams are coming out and pressing them and fouling them 35ft out, the backup Knicks are holding jerseys and getting away with it and that's been a repeating theme over the last few weeks.    Teams are coming out and applying pressure closer to halfcourt, playing tough physical defense, grabbing jerseys and the like to get them out of rhythm and it's been effective.
