Good showing from Zavala in first NFL Game

If he’s playing well enough to stay as a starter when Corbett is back, I’d prefer to keep him at RG and put Corbett on the left.

It would be tough for a rookie who missed much of camp to make that switch mid season if playing well.  Plus with some of Ickey’s struggles in preseason, rather put the vet than the rookie next to him.

Then move Zavala to the left next year with a full offseason to get settled.

yeah switching these young oL from the right to the left after a year in the NFL seems to be a formula for success time & time again

so yeah with that said I agree too...

Watching in person was tougher to tell but I also thought Ickey looked way better than he did in the preseason, more like he looked last year. OL was mostly very solid, the issue was playcalling, wideouts not getting open, rookie QB and becoming predictable playing from behind (and with bad field position for various reasons *refs*)

He's looking much better than expected. Looks like has the potential to win the starting LG job from Christensen eventually, but not yet. BC clearly looked like the better player on Sunday, but Zavala did really well for a guy that was thinking instead of playing at times. Lots to like about the potential for the future!

Icky played well...IMO, but the entire line did for the most part.

Very happy for ZV to shine, dude didn't even get an invite to the Combine IIRC.

I think Corbett has played RG almost his entire career. I’d switch the rookie. I don’t get switching him after this year. If the plan is LG of the future just put him there and deal with it. We aren’t winning squadoosh this year with our offensive weapons so just pull the bandaid off. Also, LG is supposedly the easiest OL spot to learn.

Came across this twitter/x post recently. The o-line as a whole was impressive, but what was really remarkable was Zavala performing above expectation, seemingly solid against a decent group with the Falcons.

Even had a few 1v1 reps against Jarrett.

For a 4th round rookie, seeing this performance is encouraging. Of course not fully perfect and he had some slip ups, but still very well hitting above his draft value early on.

This post encapsulates the great potential he has as a future solid starter.

A lot to be excited for there. Hoping to see him continue to build and become better.

Definitely makes sense, but Corbet has always played RG and LG is Zavala's natural position.  It might be easier to keep Corbet where he excelled and let Zavala slide to LG when he is comfortable until then BC can hold it down.

He seems great at controlling where the rusher puts their hands up to try and deflect.

    • I'm not worked up about this but I had a little beef with his reporting or whatever it is, and can’t remember specifically what it was. A year or so ago maybe. It was something about Wilks or maybe Reich, but I thought the way he presented it was pretty slanted and I disagreed with the facts as he presented them, more or less. I believe it was an audio spot with FNZ. I took note that this guy was maybe all about some kind of agenda to be distorting the reality to make a story more appealing.
    • That’s not funny. That’s people who watched Kenny Pickett play.
    • Rich people who collect Health are indeed a surprising type of leaders. It's so exciting to see it but I have no doubt that this is clear enough. Where can rookies scare up striking Health recipes? I'm working on it at this time. This would be friggin' stupid if it freaked out others. Take this information very seriously. I still hadn't found anyone to tell me with respect to this sticky situation.   https://groups.google.com/g/actiflow-prostate-health/c/3csTfO4T70g https://ocsheriff.dynamics365portals.us/forums/support-forum/5837affc-861d-ef11-a295-001dd804e445 https://bhaprod.dynamics365portals.us/forums/support-forum/6f1364f6-861d-ef11-a295-001dd80948b1 https://groups.google.com/a/chromium.org/g/chromium-reviews/c/k6H8LBL14zY https://groups.google.com/g/synogut-price/c/gk7Vuy_kDR0 https://ocsheriff.dynamics365portals.us/forums/support-forum/590538e2-881d-ef11-a295-001dd804e445 https://bhaprod.dynamics365portals.us/forums/support-forum/387bb1e3-881d-ef11-a295-001dd80948b1 https://groups.google.com/a/chromium.org/g/chromium-reviews/c/lnNwUSvAjwk https://groups.google.com/g/kerassentials-cost/c/5SLLeAVxU74 https://ocsheriff.dynamics365portals.us/forums/support-forum/e1d45d45-8a1d-ef11-a295-001dd804e445 https://bhaprod.dynamics365portals.us/forums/support-forum/a1266d43-8a1d-ef11-a295-001dd80948b1 https://groups.google.com/a/chromium.org/g/chromium-reviews/c/gVH8Ltoz_4Q  https://groups.google.com/g/pineal-guardian-brain-support/c/DRkldCEbe3w https://ocsheriff.dynamics365portals.us/forums/support-forum/e24acabb-7c1d-ef11-a295-001dd804e445 https://bhaprod.dynamics365portals.us/forums/support-forum/cecad6bd-7c1d-ef11-a295-001dd80948b1 https://groups.google.com/a/chromium.org/g/chromium-reviews/c/dnrUDyelUG8 https://groups.google.com/g/gutoptim-review/c/NYvnYEUQV4w https://ocsheriff.dynamics365portals.us/forums/support-forum/09b1fdad-8d1d-ef11-a295-001dd804e445 https://bhaprod.dynamics365portals.us/forums/support-forum/9381c5ae-8d1d-ef11-a295-001dd80948b1 https://groups.google.com/a/chromium.org/g/chromium-reviews/c/_LRPsonxaPk
