I haven’t noticed any posters who are “positive only.” I’ve seen some with some positives of certain players AKA Young that seems to bother others that don’t care for him. Example no one thinks our OL is great or Frank is crushing it that I’ve seen. Not many are pro Tepper and I’ve seen few pro Fitt at this point. No one thinks Young has an elite arm, but saying it is average isn’t accepted by some which is fine.

“Positive only” posters don’t exist. That is a figment of @LinvilleGorgeimagination.

”Negative only” posters do, and they don’t want to see any sliver of positivity, especially regarding our rookie quarterback showing improvement. And they will happily derail a good conversation about football with a good old fashioned “cope harder.”

I would probably be considered a "positive only" poster by him while more than half my posts are how terrible our GM and roster is lol

The notion that there are posters who only want positivity and will not tolerate a single ounce of criticism towards the team is laughable on its face.  This characterization is very deliberate, with the intention of painting a certain group of posters as delusional, intolerant, irrational, unreasonable, etc. simply because they are annoyed by every topic being instantly derailed by the same talking points ad nauseum.  Even the ones that almost definitely inspired the creation of this thread (unless it was just purely coincidental that Linville started this thread immediately after getting into it with people in the QB School thread) are saying that Bryce Young is struggling because of his bad supporting cast.  That is BY DEFINITION a criticism of the team as a whole.  "Positivity only posters" would suggest that people think our 0-6 start is amazing and going just as planned and our future is incredibly bright.

My personal two cents: I'm not here to tell people how to run this site. I'm just saying those responsible for keeping some semblance of order and civility will undermine their credibility and make the overall experience worse if they are instigators themselves.

I don't know the original context, and don't follow the OP enough to know his 'trolling' habits or lack thereof.
But it's just crazy to me that if people don't want a positive only thread, they won't just click around this one. It's literally one thread lol.

I would say I think it's a good idea bc we're 0-6. But even if we were 5-1, I like the idea that there is at least ONE corner of the Huddle where you would be able to go and just see good uplifting things about the team.
No it's not 'even football discussion' but there are literally over 50 pages where you can do that, or even just vent on Twitter, or to your dog.

Let people have one nice thing, even if hypothetically it originates from some trolling a*hole.

Nobody wants a positive vibes only thread; things are too shitty for that.

But just a little less wallowing in the poo would be nice. I've seen far too many serious threads/discussions hijacked by people who seem to do nothing but post about how bad Bryce Young is and how he's the biggest bust since Jamarcus Russell and can't throw the ball 3 yards past the LoS.

Some of us occasionally want to have serious, logical discussions about film review, schemes, and individual player performance without the thread immediately being hijacked by 10 people whose only contribution is trolling those of us who want to have those discussions.

The fact that some of the most vocal thread hijackers are actually mods only makes things that much worse.

    • I think it's strange that you still can't see where I'm coming from, and I guarantee you don't have more faith in him than I do.  You're looking at him in a vacuum, not about the team around him and the likely offensive game plans this season. We're going to be a run first team with 3 receiving options better than any of the other players on past rookie 1k seasons. If you can't understand that, then it's a you problem, not a me problem. Arizona's previous basketball coach, Sean Miller, used to do something at the first team meeting of every season and I think it's soooooooooo applicable to this situation. He'd have every player right down how many minutes/points they expected to average that season and then he'd add them up.  It would show that if they all hit those numbers, we'd score like 125 points a game and need to be playing 7 guys at a time to get their minutes. That's pretty much how you guys are putting your T-Mac expectations out there, looking solely at the player and what you think he should be able to do, not how the offense will operate as a whole. Every yard one player gets is one less yard someone else can get.  It sounds like I just have more faith in Thielen, XL, and Coker this year than most everyone else.  But a big reason for that faith is because of T-Mac and how much he'll open things up for the rest of them and Bryce being the type of QB to take the open easy passes than force it to his #1. As I've said, if any one of the following happens... Thielen ends the season sub 700 yards, XL or Coker end up sub 500 yards... Then yes, I will then shift my expectations for T-Mac's rookie year to be at least 1,000 yard season. But since I have faith in those other 3 having solid seasons, it tempers my expectations yardage totals for T-Mac this year, and this year alone.  I've also clearly stated many times that I think he's going to reach 10 TDs. If T-Mac ends the season with 800 yards and 10 TDs, while Thielen gets 900-1,000 and XL/Coker each get around 600, I don't see any world where that is a failure for a rookie season for T-Mac. Because again, we're talking about expectations, not what is possible.  So given the other WR options, I can't EXPECT T-Mac to get to the 1k mark, which is a far cry from me saying I don't think he can get there. Do you really not see the difference there?
    • I don't recall anyone seeing this coming.  I mean, two seperate things for me.  I thought BB just might not work in college football because he is old grumpy man and college is about appealing to young kids.   So yeah, that could of gone great or horrible.  Coin flip.  This isn't that convo for me.  what we are witnessing right now play out.....this was never part of the disaster possibility/path discussed lol.  Really weird stuff.  Or maybe I missed the part where UNC hires a 20 year old "girlfriend" that apparently runs the Bill operation and before the season even starts is taking over more than just Bill but influence of the entire UNC operation.  That was her getting that official statement made today.  It was her sabotaging the Hard Knocks UNC show because she somehow wasn't the star.  Seems like elder abuse lol.  Only largely kidding.  You even got Charles Barkley saying he normally doesn't talk about personal lives of his friends but he might have to check in on Bill because this ain't normal stuff lol.  Anyway, it's entertaining.  Everything is a cartoon it seems these days.
    • I think its strange how you were claiming this guy was the second coming of Mike Evans and you can't even get behind 1k yards? I guess I have more faith in him than you
