Enough with the crying that we took Bryce over Stroud. We need to be talking Ickey over Cross

Ickey has really struggled this year. Hell, the whole OL has. I just don't think our blocking scheme fits our talent at all. We have a bunch of maulers and we're asking them to finesse.

A top 8 pick at LT should be able to do simple pass blocking.  And he ain’t been able too

Pass blocking wasn't his strength going into the draft. He was a run mauler that was going to need to learn to pass block at the pro level. Offensive philosophy has changed from power run to complex blocking schemes. Setting up failure

This. He looked good last year once we transitioned to a power running offense that set the pass up with the run. That's what he's equipped to do at this point.

It's like asking a read option QB to play like Drew Brees. It's probably not gonna go well. It's just square pegs and round holes.

Yeah Reich and Brown shouldn’t have switched to this zone blocking scheme yet. We don’t have the players to run it. We should design our offense to their strengths then either move Icky to LG or trade him with ammunition to draft/sign OL to fit the scheme they are wanting to run. They’ve completely changed this offense without the players to do it yet.

    • It's crazy with how much winning was going on when we had a little cool off period that we're still just a couple games out of 6th. Moussa is getting better every week and Coby is getting comfortable. Would be nice to get to 6 but I think this team is a lot more stacked than the last couple play ins. I can't remember the exact rules but if you're 7th seed and win the first game I think you automatically move on and don't have to play the second game?
    • I think it was a thing for sure. Panthers weren’t too many people’s first choice. Or 5th choice.  2022 and 2023… coaches fired mid season. Consecutive years. You want any of that?  He has definitely overseen a rehab of how the Panthers are perceived. Because we are a place that is seen as up and coming. And just the little thing of he accommodated Theilen so graciously, that gets noticed. It all adds up. Dan is doing a lot of things right, probably most things.  Needs a good draft.
    • K, I think that is dumb, but you do you. I didn't find anything online that made him out to be a dislikable person. I am certain the Panthers would have cared so much if they lost your fandom if they hired Sean Payton. But bet you would have come crawling back if Sean lead us to a Super Bowl victory or Golden leads UNC to a champion ship. It is easy to say you are gonna leave a team if the hire someone you dislike when the chips are down. But people like you tend to come crawling back once the team finds success.
