Horn

From Pantherswire quoting Reich

Reich also touched on cornerback Jaycee Horn, who hasn’t been on the field since sustaining a hamstring injury in Week 1.

“Yeah, Jaycee—makin’ great progress,” Reich replied. “Still, probably a week or so, a week or two away.”

Horn underwent a surgical procedure on the hamstring injury back in September.

He has played in 17 of a possible 40 games since being drafted with the eighth overall pick in 2021.

Really feel for him, but he can't stay healthy.

For his career he really needs to make the most of the rest of this season ... Could mean a lot about reversing perceptions.

Hamstrings seem to be the NFL wide injury this year. It seems like every week half a dozen guys go down with hamstring injuries.

As someone with Jefferson as their WR1 and Waller as their TE1 in FF, I support this message.

We are going to have a very tough decision with him in the future, I suspect.

It sucks for him and us. Us a lot more, TBH.

Offer an incentive heavy contract with low base; ‘pay for play’.  If he balls out and kills the incentives, well, win-win.

If he rejects that because he wants too much guaranteed, let him test the market.

It is going to be a tough decision.

Imagine he comes back and balls out the rest of the year. What's the team's best option then? Keep him and sign him to an extension or try to trade him for draft capital?

At this point, if a team comes calling with a high 2nd round pick, how tough would it be to turn that down?

    • I can't wait for the QB! I'm almost more excited about the dozen udfa's we'll pick up than these draft picks so far
    • It's more about which routes he can physically run well, he's not gonna shake anyone like a slot guy, he didn't have much success taking catches on sweeps in the backfield etc. Stopping on a dime for a comeback route, things like that. He'll be able to turn a guy around on go routes by faking an inside cut, straight up beating guys on slants and high crosses. Also some of the film he does cut back and he's just standing there waiting for the ball so there is some unknown about the qb quality, timing, QB under distress, etc. This is what happens when you try to evaluate a guy with only 1 year of starting reps with a mid QB and newish offensive system to the school he played for
