Lattanzio needed to be sacked. The team was very inconsistent and could not be counted on to not give the game away late. It happened on multiple occasions. Also he couldn't secure a playoff berth in an expanded format where 2/3 of the teams in the league made the playoffs. This is not some Tepper overinfluence and lack of patience. He gave Lattanzio a full season after he was the interim for most of last season.

Just trying to get in front of some of the ignorant takes that will no doubt pepper this thread because most of y'all know fug all about Charlotte FC.

Isn't this the second one in three years?

The Tepper's are amongst the worst in all of sports.

It's comical that people have carried water for him and his wife.

Soccer has much more frequent manager changes than the NFL does, just the nature of the sport.

Changing a coach in the NFL is significantly more difficult given the structure of plays and strategy

Soccer is near the complete opposite, a new coach can completely change a teams overall game strategy in little to no time at all.  Sure it will take time for players to adjust and learn to play in a new system, but it’s nothing like NFL teams having to re-adjust and learn new plays that need to have 11 players working in perfect timing together.

Yes, and tbh I wouldn’t put the firing of the first coach on Tepper.  Rumor was that plenty of players spoke against the coach behind the scenes and then that kind of was confirmed after he got fired and the team captain had some stuff to say about the coach, saying there was fracture between the coach and the players and players were relieved when the firing was announced.

Need to fire the soccer team to a different city. Give it to Raleigh where those people have nothing better to do

Except pull for a winning professional franchise, not be surrounded by wanna be wall-street bros, and watch duke slowly eclipse UNC as the best basketball program in the state.

NFL or MLS. Instability is the continued theme.

As the saying goes if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck. It's a duck.

You ever heard of Duke, UNC and NCSU (not that I personally follow them)? Plenty of stuff to do in the Triangle outside of sports though, like walking safely down the street, or returning to your car that's still there after a jaunt.

And meanwhile in Raleigh, Tom Dundon has done nothing but help the Carolina Hurricanes be perennial contenders and is hoping to bring MLB to the state.

Tepper needs to just sell to Dundon. Dundon would then hire a president over the team who has knowledge and experience that he trusts. Because Dundon is one of the best owners in sports.

    • With the contract money an OT first rounder makes you can ALWAYS get a new girlfriend.  And probably an upgrade at that.  You only got 2 parents.
    • Brother. You are wholly confusing comparing situations and applying actual standards like most other franchises do like simply getting into a playoff series and winning at least 1 or 2 series games with praising. Nobody is praising the Hawks. Nobody is praising the Magic. Nobody here likes those teams. But reality is reality. The Hawks like other franchises have traded players fired coaches etc but they can still win a couple playoff games. How is that not the bare floor for you or anyone else? What are we doing here if it isn't? We've seen eye to eye on many things over the years. But you are in the camp on the Hornets where you are emotionally attached to LaMelo where you feel the need to carry his water like he's got that juice. That's cool that you feel that way. It's your prerogative. But I differ from that viewpoint entirely. If he had that juice we would not have gotten wiped off the court in 2 play in games with 2 different coaching staffs and rosters. if people don't like hearing that well I'm sorry but how the hell is this team ever going to get better and ultimately go anywhere in the postseason if we just blindly pat them on the back for getting their asses whooped before they actually even get into the real playoffs? There seem to be some Bryce Young level standards being applied here. That's wild to me. But to each his own.
    • Proctor/Freeling were always the belles of the ball where we were picking. What those two *could* become at OT was far greater than what others could be at their respective positions and I’m glad our FO could see that.
