Cole Kemet has himself another big day.  DJ has an average day

Panthers try and run the ball because they can’t throw ….but then can’t help themselves and Bryce throws 2 more picks

Bears 24, Panthers 10

….as Bryce leads a TD drive late that doesn’t matter so the talking heads can point to ‘continued improvement’.

in this whole mess, I only feel badly for the DC.  Decimated by injuries and the defense continues to do the best it can …almost like, you know, they aren’t just here for the paycheck.

frankly, if I’m Tepper, I keep the DC and show the rest the door  seen enough to not want to see more

13-10 Bears

Only taking the Bears because they are at home and can run the ball.  The right side of the line with Jenkins and Wright has been dominant on run blocks.

Expect it to be a low scoring game. Bears passing game has been atrocious. Especially when Bagent is the QB. He is responsible for 8 turnovers in 3 games. His arm strength is suspect at best.  Don't expect anything accurate beyond 20 yards.

Bears run defense has been surprisingly good. They play a cover 2 shell and keep everything in front of them, so Young could thrive on short quick throws which will be open until they get inside the 20.

    • At this point, I think Chubba is the odd man out. I hate that, but I think Dowdle gives us more production and big play ability.  But there is still a lot of football to play.  I think it depends on how much Dowdle will want too.
    • I’ve been anti-trade when it comes to Melo, but the way this season has started, it may be time.  I love his game and he’s a cool dude, but I’m starting to think, if he’s your best player, you’re never going to win anything of significance.  Too many brain farts, too many injuries, and ultimately for as fun and entertaining as he is to watch - his game is indeed a thing of beauty - it just doesn’t translate to wins.  And that’s IF he even plays.  I think it’s time to cash out and maximize the return.  I love Melo, but I think it’s pretty clear what the ceiling is for a team where he is the best player.
    • Every NFL team, college program, hell even HS has numerous "what ifs" that got derailed by injury. It's a brutal sport and half the battle is just getting lucky enough to stay healthy. Doesn't matter how durable you are and how well you take care of your body everyone is one weird hit or awkward twist away from a career derailing injury.
