What if, and hear me out here, Bryce Young is not actually some cerebral genius QB

Bryce played on one of the best college teams out there. Now, he doesn't play for a good team at all. The mark of a TRUE elite QB is being able to at least compete when you have nothing. He's yet to do so. Simple as that. It may click for him eventually, and we may eventually give him more stars to pad his career, but for now he's a failure. Fact.

Young defenders tell us over and over that if he had better talent around him he'd be playing better. To which I constantly reply: NO S**T.

So ask yourself, what is the TRUE evaluation of a QB? If he has stars around him, and fails ... he sucks. If he has stars around him and is great ... is it the talent around him, or is it him? It's almost impossible to truly judge a QB IMHO. But one thing is VERY VERY clear ... if a QB can compete with trash around him ... he's a very good QB.

That ain't Bryce ... currently.

Agents have the ears of "experts". They sprinkle a few hundred grand into their pockets to slob on the jocks of their clients. You can only analyze film so much. Mel Kiper and other talking heads can't see in 4D or some other realm vision, they can see the same traits and habits of a player that we can... That being said, Tepp got sold on a test score. Richardson ignored the talks of Cam being stupid and went with a pure baller and it worked out pretty well. The Texans dodged a bullet by not drafting a dud, who had their brain size glamourized to cover up his 5'9 frame, and drafted a pure baller.

Richardson literally called and begged luck to declare, then told cam not to get tattoos.

Regardless of whether he’s “cerebral” or not he’s tasked with playing on an offense that might be all-time NFL bad by the time the season is over. Oh yeh, and he has already had two guys calling plays in 1/2 a season and both of them have no clue how to generate points.

i know it’s really hard for the instant gratification generation and the hot take crowd to not trash Bryce but we really can’t grade this guy until he has legit weapons and a better than awful o-line.

Bryce was a great college QB, no doubt about it. But there's a loooooooong list of great college players that don't translate to the pros. Sometimes it's physical, sometimes it's mental, sometimes it's off the field, sometimes it's unfortunate injuries, or something combination of some or all of the above. So far, Bryce ain't translating.
