Well I mean this current staff worked their way up and they suck so why not see what happens?

I like to avoid high risk situations. If Greg proves that he is good at coaching WRs ect, then I'd feel more comfortable moving him up the ladder further. To start him at the top is more risk than what I am comfortable with taking. Just my opinion.

I know we all are bias toward Greg, but that's probably not a great idea. I personally would still love for him to have some part of the staff, but it's just not realistic for a guy with zero coaching experience get offered a HC gig. Let's get him as a TEs coach first. Maybe Luke or Davis as a LB coach if they're interested. Screw it, call up Peppers and see what's he up to. Smith as a receivers coach? Fine with that, too.

Greg is a very intelligent guy.  His dad is a coach so he has some basics about the job.  He's a former player that can and will get respect from the players.

If I were Greg, my deciding factor would be that Tepper stays in the Owner's booth and him and the GM (whoever it may be) have complete control over the roster.

I could see him really doing well.

I actually wouldn't have been against seeing him as the interim, he has a great football mind and he's great at knowing what is about to happen.

So sure, if he had agreed to do that, I'd have been curious to see how the team would respond to him and what he'd do with Bryce.

But not a fan of hiring him in the offseason unless we really can't get any quality candidates interested for the job, rather see someone else fail than Olsen

Who has Greg Olsen coached? A f u c k i n. Pop Warner team ARE YALL SERIOUS? Hell Noooo!!!!!

I haven't seen anyone say he coached a team.  I know he comes from a family where his father is a highly respected coach.

If you have ever listened to Olsen you'll know he is very intelligent and understands detail.   His obvious success would be hitched to his coordinators but as a head coach I have no doubt that he would win the locker room and be successful.

    • It's not common for a RB to recover from two ACL tears in the same knee. It's fairly rare. You are correct that it isn't the career ender that it used to be but there is also the fact that we appear to have largely moved on with the additions of Dowdle and Etienne.  Dobbins is a very good example. He has basically missed 54% of his career regular season games since he came into the league in 2020. It will end up being 57% at the conclusion of this season. It's a big contributing factor to why he is on this third NFL team in 6 years. It's certainly possible that may be 4 by the beginning of next season. I would say there is very little chance that Brooks ever contributes in any meaningful way in Carolina. Possibly with another team but I am extremely skeptical of his future here because of those injuries and because of the roster.
    • Dude he didnt play in pre season.....  he didnt practice at all with the team until the end of October.    I do agree though.
    • Bryce had a hand in the Miami win but not nearly as large of one as Rico and he also had the extra burden of being a big reason we were in the hole in the first place. If we get a winning season he is definitely back for next year though.
