I feel no connection to this team.  So much has changed, no player is a franchise cornerstone.  If they left and we were to get a replacement franchise, a la the Hornets, I'd be down.

The nfl is all about stars

the best of the best

the panthers have nothing

they have a midget who makes great dinner conversations

No, no he wouldn’t.

He was a horrifying NBA owner. Probably the worst in the NBA for most of his time.

He would be worse because he wouldn’t even care if we were losing, just like he didn’t with the Hornets. He never cared a single bit.

Well, there was George Shinn...

Because it's a chance at a fresh start with a new franchise or at the very least cuts ties to an increasingly bad NFL.

If Tepper leaves it’s a fresh start regardless. We lose more than we gain with the team moved. No guarantee for an expansion. Different branding. All your memorabilia is useless. Tradition out the window.

We might not have much of a culture of winning in the Carolinas but team identity has many roots. Doesn’t make sense to chop it all down.

  • Tepper isn't selling the team. He bought it to be part of a very exclusive club, which strokes his ego.
  • Most people have already given up on the team since it has been so bad every year he's owned it, so if Tepper moves the team, we really don't lose much.
  • True, there is no guarantee for an expansion, but if the NFL wants a team here, there will be one, even if it's another team that moves instead of a fresh start.
  • The branding being different can be a very good thing. Most NFL fans know the Panthers are a mediocre at best team that has become straight up terrible under Tepper.
  • You'll still have your memories, so any memorabilia you may own won't be useless. And any monetary value it has may actually increase.
  • Whatever tradition the team had is already out the window.
  • The team isn't that old as far as pro teams go and it is located in a transplant city. The roots aren't deep at all.

    • Yup. Hopefully  Brandon adds some muscle this off-season but he'll probably be resting his shoulder for a while so I doubt it. Miles should probably be replaced but I don't think we find a better 4th option to be honest. So is it better to add depth along side williams and Coby or try to upgrade the 4/5 . I think adding depth will probably be more beneficial than trying to upgrade starters and bank on Brandon and Kons continuing development. I really don't think they are going to make the playoffs unfortunately. I think the big hole they put themselves in has exhausted them. They've been amazing since January 1 but I think it's come at a cost and their legs are gone.
    • The issue is the predictability of it all in a Bryce Young led offense. In 4th down attempts the Jets were at 41 and we were at 40. And we were 4th in conversation %. We were 25th in the league in 3rd down conversion because we faced so many 3rd and longs in part due to playcalling on 1st and 2nd down but more largely due to the limitations that cannot be overcome.  And people want us to spend another 1st rounder on WR as if it is going to magically give Bryce physical talent he will never possess. It's a shame we cut off our own nose just to put ourselves in this frustrating predicament.
