I would just love to be a fly on the wall to see how Tepper is during these interviews.  He strikes me as a socially obtuse guy that will go on tangents and not even really "interview" the guy.

He is 100% an awkwardly social person it seems

I would love to be a fly on the wall just to hear an honest assessment about BY, Tepper may be in for a rude awakening

I'd agree. But how do you do that when the guy in charge of doing the hiring wants exactly that kind of person?

All we can do is wait and see if Tepper will at least back off his meddling somewhat and let the GM and coach do their jobs. I think it's mostly unlikely. But I'm going to hope for it in the meantime because I need some level of hope before the offseason kicks off and the media and everyone else starts laying into us in for giving the Bears the first pick. We'll see.

I haven't heard much about who, other than Tepper, is taking part in the process.

Dan Morgan perhaps on the coaching side, but that'd be pretty damn awkward for the GM interviews.

If it's all being done by the search firm, I'm not sure how comfortable I am with that.

I am legit worried no one decent wants this job.  I am prepared to be very disappointed in the coaching choice

they will, all the talk about coaches not wanting this job and blah blah is fan speak. this is a business, they'll get paid what they need to consider, they'll get to hire who they want to, they get a chance to mold a #1 pick QB and if it doesn't work, they get another crack at finding a guy in 2025. the owner is an absolute idiot that is way too involved but the hope is that he's learned his lesson and that you're a good enough coach to not have to have an owner start putting in his 2 cents and what not. if you're afraid of your ability to coach this team and bring in the right guys and that you'll be on the chopping block, we don't want you here tbh.

My (small amount) of optimism is due to Tepper being mostly in the background during the first couple of years of Rhule's tenure here. I do think if the team was winning he would chill out a lot.  The problem is he needs to get us to the point where we are winning.

He is very likely on the spectrum. I don’t mean to say that in a rude way. It seems to have served him greatly in the financial world calculating complex problems to analyze risk and reward for his trades. It does not seem to serve him in the football world and yes that also equates to social awkwardness

Pro Football Talk’s Michael David Smith reports the Panthers are interviewing Ben Johnson for their head coaching position.
Even though he’s in the middle of a playoff run with the Lions, Johnson is a wanted man. According to Smith in his article, Johnson is considered the favorite to land the job in Carolina. Johnson also has a scheduled interview with the Commanders. If the Panthers could land him, it would be considered a major upgrade for Bryce Young and the Panthers’ offense.

Probably helps to be a little clearer on my part here...

Howie Roseman isn't a great personnel guy or a great coach, but what he has been good at in the past is hiring people who were.

Unfortunately between he and Jeffrey Lurie, he's also part of a culture that tends to undermine those guys and shoot its own wounded.

That's definitely not something I want to import here.

Yeah the culture is huge red flag, no doubt, so I would stay away. A shame as they draft and acquire players so well.
