I see people say it both ways commonly. I stand corrected! @LinvilleGorge please continue using that saying as you wish

I've never heard anyone use it the way you said. For what you're talking about someone would say "late 30s" or "pushing 40" or something along those lines. "Wrong side of an age" just means over that age.

Neither have I. You are absolutely correct. Think of 30 as a wall. Younger is on the good/right side and older is on the bad/wrong side.

I think he’s confusing stuff like when you tell people who turn 35 that you are closer to 40 or on the downslope/downhill to 40.

    • You are right. At the same time I don’t think people are watching games going come on Bryce put it on the ground or sail it OB or whatever. They just have trouble seeing him turning his 3 or four or five top games of 2025 into the weekly standard outing. Which you expect for the kind of money he will ask for (speaking for myself anyway).
    • In terms of comparing Pickett and Young's arm talent it's basically a push at best. Pickett is sitting at 6.2 yards per pass attempt for his career while Bryce sits at 6.0 Last season Bryce was 6.3 in yards per pass attempt. Only Justin Fields Spencer Rattler (both 6.2) Kyler Murray (6.0) 41 year old Joe Flacco (6.0) 44 year old Phillip Rivers (5.9) rookie Cam Ward (5.9) and Tyrod Taylor (5.8) had less pass yards per attempt than Bryce Young in his third season as a starter. Folks going around acting as if it is beyond the pale to say Pickett might have a better arm than Young are living in an alternate reality. You can choose to not believe your own eyes after 46 games but everyone else will acknowledge reality and move forward accordingly.
    • Wayne Gretzky yesterday said he is playing as good a series as he has ever seen from a defender. I thought that was pretty high praise.
