Division Talk: Falcons are heavy favorites to land Justin Fields

Article:

The Bears seem to be preparing to trade quarterback Justin Fields. The Falcons might be preparing to trade for him.

The Falcons are the overwhelming favorites to land Fields in the odds set by DraftKings Sportsbook.

Atlanta is at -225, with the Bears next at +240. The Steelers come in at +340, and the Raiders are at +800.

The Patriots have +1500 odds, with the Broncos at +2000.

At one point, DraftKings removed the odds. They have since returned.

The Bears need to move quickly, if they’re going to trade Fields. With other quarterbacks available, seats will be filled quickly as free agency approaches. The longer the Bears wait, the greater the chance there won’t be a taker.

That could force the Bears to keep Fields until after the first round of the draft concludes, hopeful that a team targeting a quarterback in round one doesn’t get the player it wants. If that doesn’t happen, the Bears could be stuck.

Teams can agree to the terms of a trade currently. No deal can become official until March 13 at 4:00 p.m. ET.

Betting lines everywhere on everything these days... jeebus.

Yea im beyond sick of watching gambling ads non-stop. I know with even a DVR, if you see a gambling ad, its either the first commercial or game is back. Its a super turn-off, but I know the beast thats its become.

But like my old friend that was a Correctional Officer told me about gambling- " You can not stop inmates form doing it, they will bet on which water droplet fails first or which fly leaves first ". I feel that way about drugs too....

Im just fatigue about it among many things force on us especially if its hypocritical or BS.

I like Fields so I'd prefer him stay out of the division. I like Mayfield too so it already sucks having him in the division.

I think if atl gets a decent or baker like QB, they will win the division with ease. They have about everything(edge is missing) you want/need, just missing that important QB. Plus he doesnt need to be great, just not bad.

Just if I was a QB or the agent of one, alllll those weapons at RB, WR, and TE. OL is decent and the whole offense unit has under-performed. They could be down right scarey with a real QB. Is that fields? Thats a tough call, never was a fan, but he has improved. If he kept getting better, it would be a 10 year nightmare for the NFC south.

It would definitely be a good landing spot for Fields. I'd like to find out if he's legit and being held back by the Bears or if that's just who he is - extremely talented but wildly inconsistent.

    • if  ANYONE actually goes & looks at the FACTS on rookie Qb's after 2 full seasons as a starter in the NFL & they are still well below average do they rarely ever actually become top tier Qb's & instead most likely either do not recieve a second contract & or become life long backups...just saying
    • So he became GM and decided not to address the weakness in the QB room following one of the worst rookie QB performances in NFL history?  There were options last season other than signing Dalton to a 2 year deal. Brissett and Jones by a wide margin, both of whom outplayed Bryce, Wilson, Winston, hell even Rivers off the couch was more exciting at the QB position. The time to address the failure in the QB room was last year but instead people on the Huddle cheered when we brought Dalton back then cheered when we were able to get anything for him after they finally realized he was washed up like a few of had been saying all along and got poo'd for even mentioning.  This year, the options were more limited obviously, especially since we lost Icky. It changed the dynamic of our draft. I think we were stuck this year keeping Bryce, but i still think giving him a 5th year option for what has amounted to replacement worthy performance was the wrong move. Why guarantee 25m if you're planning to replace him? You think he's going to want to be a bridge QB? Hell no. He's going to want out and we'll end up cutting him if he has another lackluster season because no one is trading for him with that price tag.  Were there better options as far as production available. A couple. Were there guys available with more physical tools than Bryce, Pickett or Grier, you damn well better believe there were. I've been saying all along, you always keep looking for your 1b. Bryce has yet to prove he can be a starter. Keep looking for someone who may. Put competition in camp. Let the best QB lead the team. Stop settling for less than mediocre.
