Imagine being as bad at something as Sam Darnold is at NFL QBing and it still being worth $10M a year.

If you can look the part, that's 90% of being one of these wealthy journeyman NFL QBs.  Sam has some talent, but his major problem is he's not a good player.  Teams still think they can polish a turd and have something that doesn't look and smell like poo on the field.

Yep. If you have a high level of physical talent and can spin it in practice and you're a good guy in the locker room like by coaches, other players, and front office types you're probably gonna end up banking a lot of money even if you're completely terrible every time you actually step into the field on a Sunday. They're the NFL equivalent of that ass kissing corporate middle management ladder climber who everyone knows brings nothing to the table but somehow they just hang around and fail upward anyway.

We aren't trading for Higgins yall

This makes sense, actually. If we are interested (you have to assume we probably are) then why not wait until next offseason when he's on the market? Cincy won't re-sign him; they're looking to make a SB run this year and hoping to get one last year from him.

Unless he outright refuses to play for them and forces a trade I don't think they'll trade him, but they're not looking to keep him long-term either. So he'll very likely be available next year in free agency, at which point we'll have plenty of cap space and hopefully something resembling an actual functional NFL offense to put him in.

    • Looking like it might be game 7 for Pitt and Phi. Philly is spent. I like more rest for the canes
    • Moton is the man through and through. 2 things I'll always give Gettleman credit for, 1 is drafting Moton, the other is building a SB contending roster and blowing it up in one off-season
    • Kurb is still alive and well.  I’m still friends with him on all of the social media.  He truly is a great man!  That’s my bro!  He always looked out for me since the early days of the huddle.  It definitely makes me sad that he just quit posting here, but that’s life.  He still shares his takes on social media and X, but a lot of the huddle vets just grew tired of this format and the environment, I guess?  It’s a lot of guys that were valuable contributors here that just stopped posting but are still alive and passionate Panthers fans.  Blindsite used to post huge write-ups and was a well-respected poster and then just disappeared.  We had one of these type threads several years ago and he checked back in and explained he just lost the motivation to stay active here.  It was amazing hearing from him again…   I signed up in 04 after coming over from the Charlotte.com boards and been here ever since.  (For those that don’t know - this is Proudiddy - had to change the name very recently due to ‘ol tootsie roll penis and the bad press 😂).  I’m forever thankful for all of you, even those who I haven’t had the greatest history with, I still appreciate yall.  Many have come and gone, both figuratively and literally, and that has put a lot into perspective over the years.  I went from a young, newly married, wide-eyed twenty year-old guy with a baby on the way, to a now forty-two year-old guy, recently divorced and newly re-married guy with my oldest baby now an adult and 5 more kids since.  And what ride it has been!  You guys have been a much bigger part of my life than I really care to acknowledge.😂
