Well at least something is going right.

The Giants as a destination never really made sense anyways as their roster is being rebuilt QB is up in the air and their defense was not a pass rusher away by any means. They were already 27th in total defense last season.

I suspect their thinking was that he and Thibodeaux would synergize and help elevate each other for the remaining years of Kayvon's rookie contract. Because that's exactly what you want, to drop $30MM on a guy that can't deliver results without potentially having a star on the other side of him.

Lolz. Hope the Giants are enjoying it.

And why do you need to put the cherry on top of your proverbial sundae, when you don't have any ice cream in the bowl?  Daniel Jones is still your QB, and this team isn't close to competing.  Brian Burns isn't changing that.

What if I told you our current gm was against trading him for 2 #1s and a second ?

One of the big reasons I wanted to go outside to a proven successful GM/assistant GM and not go internal with Morgan.

It’s still legitimately crazy that we said no to that QB level draft pick bundle. I mean you truly have to be an idiot to pass that up. Again, for anyone following along, it was 2 1sts and 1 2nd to trade a guy asking for $30M a year because we were trying to sign him to an extension.

Had we made that deal, we basically would have gotten Hunt and Lewis for the cap space of Burns plus 2 1sts and 1 2nd. Five potential solid starters for one. Criminally insane to pass that up.

The even more disappointing thing is that before the 2023 season started, our 2024 1st would have been less valuable than the Rams because we had 2 more wins than them and we’re about to add the missing QB. We could have likely traded the Rams 1sts and kept our 2024 1st pick and DJ Moore.

QB you say? Perhaps we could interest them in a QB? He’s a bit of a fixer upper but the brain on that kid….

Chinn and Luvu aren't doing so hot either. Last time I looked it was like 14 combined tackles, no sacks, ints, or TFLs.

I never did understand Chinn. Looked good his rookie year and then disappeared. I realize we had crap coaching and they werent playing him where he was meant to play so I figured he would have caught fire in Washington but apparently not.

    • The best part is they compliment each other. Chuba is a more patient runner, patiently waiting for gaps to form while Rico is more explosive. I wish they would use Rico more like McCaffery was used - getting him the ball in space to take advantage of his explosivness and violence. Then have Chuba pound the middle for the tough yards.
    • I loved those late 90s-early 2000s Miami teams.  If McGahee hadn’t had that injury, he would probably have been a Top 10 all-time rusher, no doubt in my mind.  The fact he didn’t lose his leg below the knee is still a miracle.  And the fact he came back from that, made it in the NFL, and still carved out a career that included over 8k yards rushing and two pro bowls is damn impressive.  It just demonstrates how good he would have been had he never had the injury.  Prior to that, he was like nothing I had ever seen.  Like a bigger, more physical and elusive Reggie Bush.
    • Boozer may end up going higher in the draft, but agree about Caleb Wilson. Give me that dude, think he's going to translate very well and has the attitude I want on a young team.  My perfect world as of now... Trade anything not bolted down as far as vet's go. Sexton is on an expiring and would be an easy flip. Bridges, just get him somewhere else. One year left on a low $20 mil deal should be an easy trade...but the apron for many teams could haunt us.  LaMelo is the issue. Likely would have to trade our problem to someone else for their problem (Ja, Zion, Zach Lavine) to make contracts somewhat match up.  I want to build around last year's draft class, get as many bites at this draft class as possible, etc. If we get lucky and get #1 or #2, wonderful. If not, get into the top 5 or so and grab Caleb Wilson.
