i forgot it was banned.

i might try to lift it leading up to the draft.

Or people can bookmark Panthersdotcom and check things out for themselves, like I do.  If folks want to link meaningful content, great.  We just don't need every fluff piece that pops up over there being spammed here.

I enjoy the bot ban.

Doomed to fail I fear.

Probably, but there is a nice Venn diagram overlap between roster building for Bryce and for a future successor QB.  The ‘friction’ is the degree to which skill players are drafted or signed specifically for a Bryce ‘small ball’ game plan.  Just a SWAG but, perhaps 2-3 skill players (2 WR, 1 RB) would not translate well to a more traditional game plan on offense.  Player fit is more of a continuum, rather than a binary yes or no.

It's never going to happen, but I wish they'd address the elephant in the room.

Instead it's all about "trying to build around Bryce". Doomed to fail I fear.

So far I think the roster moves on offense thus far would help almost any young QB.  That being said if BY doesn't show something this year I'm pretty sure (or at least extremely hopeful) we are looking for a QB next April

"We can't continue to keep giving draft capital away for players."

Thank you Dan Morgan. We've traded away

  • 2021 sixth-round pick
  • 2022 second-round and fourth rock pick
  • 2023 first round swap, second, and third-round pick
  • 2024 first overall pick
  • 2025 second round pick
  • DJ Moore

fug Matt Rhule and Scott Fitterer for hamstringing this franchise time and time again.

I said this back in 2020 when we traded for Darnold. Why do we continue to give up picks for potential QB's?

Then we go and trade up to number one to draft one and will probably be drafting another at number one next year. The amount of wasted talent we've had via loss of draft picks is exponential.

    • Sellers has bust written all over him..unless he goes to a team that can afford to sit him where he can learn the game and develop without the pressure of starting immediately. Not sure that is the Panthers. If we do go rookie in the draft, he can't be viewed as a day 1 starter. He does have potential, but I think it is going to have to be a handle-with-care situation.
    • Nothing will change with the qb situation until Tepper is convinced Young is not viable. Until that point, it will be Young. During that time, any shortcomings of Young will be because he does not have the necessary supporting cast, and/or coaches are failing him with faulty schemes and defective gameplans.  So, until Tepper is out, Young is in.
    • Young is the kind of QB who will go as far as the team drags him 90% of the time. And once in a long while he'll explode and light the opposing team up. That is not anywhere near where we need to be as a team. What' worse is that we've won way too many games this season due to an extremely easy schedule. So we can't select a top QB in the draft, and a free agent QB is usually not the answer.  The Panthers fell victim to a long stretch of bad QBs coming out of college. Even if we had made different moves and selected any number of different QBs coming out, we still would have ended up with a bust most likely. Bryce is a bust. Tua is a bust. Zach Wilson? Yikes. Trey Lance. Justin Fields. Mac Jones. Kenny Picket. CJ Stroud. My point is that a lot of teams were devastated by this stretch of bad QBs coming out of college, but we were dumb enough to trade the farm for one of them.  The smart move? Tale the 2 first round picks from the Rams for Burns, and keep CMC. Sit tight. Whatever QB falls in your lap in the draft, take him. Then use the other two first round picks to build up the o-line on the cheap. This isn't Morning GMing. I said take the Rams deal at the time. We have not had a good GM ever in franchise history.  No more trading up for QBs. Clearly is a total guessing game. Stay put. Trade vets for draft picks and start the rebuilding process with a new GM and new coaches. Cut Bryce and bring him back on a vet min deal. Then cut him again for being trash. He's done here if I had any say.
