I think it’s underselling XL a bit by saying he’s only a deep threat. He runs a killer stop route (helped by his deep threat ability) and he is absolutely lethal on crossing routes and slants. This MFer can run and once he catches the ball with some momentum he could be gone. I think I remember him hitting the season record in terms of in-game top speed last year? But yeah, he doesn’t have combine speed, actual game speed.

Fastest clocked time in game at like 22.3 mph on some Tyreek Hill game speed. This is a fact so game speed might really show his elite speed once we get him in good situations like on time passes where he can turn and take off.

I like these angles on the XL highlights better than the stuff I saw pre-draft, routes/stiffness not as rough as I remember thinking from the tv angles

first, i loved watching those clips without hearing those commentators. just the sound of the action and the crowd.

second, i'm just excited watching all of those guys. Wallace and Barrett were really fun to watch.

but for those angles, there were plays that i had watched several times of XL, Brooks, and Sanders that showed a completely different vantage point that made them look even more impressive.

i think we've got some good ones in this draft.

So I was looking for any Wallace vs Legette in these clips. Nothing in Wallace’s highlights. I found him imn a Legette TD but he was on the backside it was away from him.

Probably a good thing I can’t find them, and have to work through them making each other look good/bad.

Interesting article on stat predicting bust WR's....

Of course it paints their guy in a good light but our guys not too great.

That is extremely interesting.

I am big on data so I love stuff like this.

Why do we keep drafting these kinds of dudes?

Other tricky thing about one year of production is we don't know how he looks against any current NFL CB's. Closest I could find

    • I did not want to start or even think about *if* BY reverts back to pre-non last 9 games.   There is a lane in which Panthers are looking QB after this season, I feel its higher than most will realize. I mean....not kidding... has any team ever traded up to 1st overall twice in the teams history? I don't even want to think within 3 years, just foresee Tepper squeezing Dans and Brandts sacs to the point were they are forced to trade up for a another savior.....   The kicker is I feel this way with BY playing good-great..... I think there with be non-fixable problems for contract negotiations between BY&reps vs Panthers org on the whole. You can not pay 50+ million per over few years with 70% guarantees for 3,303 yards 15 TDs and 9 INTs......Cursed I tell you....
    • It's not surprising, but it's still surprising that many of these guys don't manage their money in such a way that provides them and their families a better lifestyle than most for the rest of their lives without even working a nine-to-five. I can't imagine making over a 100 mil for a decade and ultimately ruminating about supporting my family due to financial issues.
    • That why i mentioned the KC dynasty. Those three different playoff loses were not Allens fault, in fact 1-2 plays and Bills win. KC just have better players and better coaches and more luck.  Defense-wise, Bills have been trying to crack the Reid-Halhomes magic. Its near impossible with rules and KC home field advantage. Spags has started to force the league in naming him the best DC in NFL history. I agree if you take away Bill bielacheat.... Add in Andy Reid the best QB coach and brilliant play designer/play-caller, I mean that's too much for one QB to over-come on his own.  Just trolling or not, bad is bad scot. Allen is legit as any one QB has ever been.
