Oh great another Brandon Smith. Feels like nothing has changed in the war room since Tepper took over

Yep exact same sh!t

”building through the draft” sounds great in theory but we’re once again just pissing away picks.

This team would be much better trading picks for proven talent. There were actual people here who didn’t want to trade 33 or 39 for Brandon Aiyuk.

Instead we got a RB and LB. The most Panthers draft ever

right, because no other teams have RBs and LBs.

This guy is a pure physical specimen who plays fast and angry. He needs to get better at the mental part of the game and improve his ability to shed blocks and read plays, but he has all the tools to be an awesome LB for us. If we could somehow get Luke to take a break from his hunting and fishing trips and have him mentor this kid that would be perfect.

I have not seen Trevin Wallace play, and I bet 99% of people complaining haven’t seen him play… but don’t let stand in the way of you complaining

I am going way out on a limb here--I bet Morgan knows more about LB than Huddlers with a bad attitude.

I think that you're mixing up RAS for upside. We presumably have good good coaches, and we certainly have people closely associated with the franchise and actually closely associated with the GM that know a little something about playing WR and LB. Canales was a WRs coach for goodness sakes. You pick the guys with the upside and coach them up.

That's the same argument I heard for the last two staffs and the guys we drafted back then.

Unfortunately, until that actually happens, I am going to be very skeptical.

I don't think they've taken BPA at each pick, which has lead to some reaching, but the 2nd and 3rd rounders are definitely football players who also happen to be hyper athletic.

Legette - yeah, that's a strange one for me.

Yep. We apparently are anti-BPA. Plus all the trading up and down to get guys that seem like reaches.......boy that all seems really familiar.....

That's totally fair. But like I've been saying: it's a new day.

Sounds like the LB or DE we drafted last year with one of the CMC picks. “We love our selves ah good project don’t we bahs”.

Lol

the weird thing is that most of these places have him pegged as a 3rd rounder

the crime is that we didn’t take a guy from their Alma mater

Show me recent situations where we thought we were smarter than the rest of the league and it worked out. I can show you dozens of examples of that not being the case.

I am not going to applaud hubris. Especially when it has nothing to back it up.

    • it's pretty simple IMO.  The Tepper Panthers are the most unsuccessful professional sports in all of sports.  The problem isn't the posters here have changed.  The product dictates the atmosphere more than anything.  In reality, the daily convos about THE worst team in all of pro sports on a fanatics site....is going to feature harsh and critical convo.  Only one entity can actually change that.  It's the Carolina Panthers football team.
    • Yes message boards will always include that sort of stuff… However, this place has been a cess pool since the team took Bryce Young over CJ Stroud. It becomes a problem when it is accepted and promoted, which it has been here (even by at least one mod). Many posters sole purpose on this board is to try to dunk on others for having different opinions. We just had one write a novella on how talking about Bryce Young’s game winning drives “needs to stop”…after a win. They don’t want real conversation. It “needs to stop”. There are many posters here who literally only show up after losses to dead thread and try to dunk on others about the QB (MRenshaw is an easy example). I really don’t see much of that happening the other way around. There’s too many people that would rather the team be bad so they can feel justified for constant doom and gloom and negative opinions. It’s been pointed out by many over the past couple years. This just isn’t a place to have football discussions anymore because of the constant hyperbole. If you don’t subscribe to “Bryce Young is the worst QB ever who can’t throw the ball further than 5 yards and is the reason why we lose any game we lose and doesn’t help in any game we win”, then you are labeled a Bryce Young Stan.
    • if you believe he is watching every NFL game.....every week.....go right ahead.  I get it, he said something you like.  But that's like believing the talking heads on the ESPN shows are watching all the games.  You think Stephen A is watching the Panthers every Sunday too?  If Stephen A needs to go on First Take he certainly can pretend like he has watched every snap any player on the roster has taken lol.   No one is that isn't a Panther fan has been watching the 9-25 career go down every Sunday.  Or even a lot of Sunday's.  You know who knows more about Bryce Young than Long? The collective huddle.  What they are reviewing is stat sheets, highlights and in summaries.  It's an old formula lol.
