Sanders begins his rookie campaign with the goal to be the 'next Greg Olsen' for the Panthers

If TMJ doesn't end up making the team (which is a real possibility), then I'd like to see Sanders take over #88 and really try to be our next Olsen.

Don't know why, but I don't like how 85 looks on him and hoping he makes a change to something else.

I heard he wanted 0 like he had in college, but for now him in 85 I hope just has to do with it being rookie camp. I don't think there is anybody really good enough on team to deny him the number he wants, but I do remember an article about Jaycee wanting 0 before Burns last year.

Said Sanders, "I'm just trying to be the next Greg Olsen. I'm trying to be the new face of the offense for sure."

Good mentality, I've liked what I've seen in interviews between him and Brooks as well.  Both of those kids should be good for this offense.

Greg Olsen wasn't the Greg Olsen we knew his rookie year.  Remember, the Bears gave up on him and traded Greg to us for peanuts.  So dude ain't coming out of the gates as Greg Olsen.

That being said, the Olsen trade was probably the only trade we've ever clearly won.

I have a feeling we will win the Diontae trade. Donte Jackson sucks.

On PNP, Rashad got his autograph and he signed it with #0. So maybe won't be long

I like to see the fire. Ian's timid reaction to replacing Greg was a red flag looking back:

Quote

"I think my first couple years were solid. I'm not really a person that likes to look into the future. But I'll do my best to make sure I'm preparing for the next upcoming season as much as I can," Thomas told Joseph Person of The Athletic. "Hopefully, that's a good thing and that's a great season ahead of me. But I like to live in the now."

Quote

There's a chance the team could still look to address his position through the draft and/or free agency so Thomas isn't ready to claim the No. 1 spot. But he hopes it'll be his sooner rather than later.

"I think so. But, I mean, I'm not sure how everything is going to pan out," he said. "But, yeah, that's what I'm hoping for."

    • It’ll be interesting to see how the board falls I completely agree with you on TE for us The safety from Oregon would be the cherry on top for Evero’s defense/scheme.  If a OL’men is there that you love it would be very hard to pass up. This fan base seems to just see Walker as a stop gap but I wouldn’t be so sure. He’s the same age as Ekwonu. He’s had a much more impressive career arc/progression than Icky has. He’s the better pass protector. As far as I see it if Walker has a good year I’d bring him back over Icky. Ekwonu isn’t some elite franchise LT. Playing next to Lewis is going to be great for Walker much like it has been for Icky. We definitely need to get younger/cheaper on the OL though so for this reason alone it’s still top of my list come round 1 if board falls this way  Could also use another corner with Mike Jackson’s deal up after this season and needing a nickel but Corey Thornton looked really good in that role in the limited time we got to see him. However he’s coming off an achillies injury and you never know with those.  Then as mentioned above we do still have a need at WR. As far as “weapons” go it’s kind of a 2 man show with Tmac and Coker and neither is a burner. If Jordan Tyson is there at 19 and we can have a young WR group locked up for cheap that’s a huge advantage cap wise  And don’t forget linebacker. That clip in Devin’s Lloyd blueprint they used from Evero saying they need more intelligence there could’ve been left out for Wallace’s sake but it’s true. Wallace is lost in coverage. Pair a smart linebacker with Lloyd and that’s a group with Wallace and Cherelus being depth
    • The fact that this is even a discussion is a testament of the level of front office badassery that's going on.
    • Not always. LT was for the Giants. So was Ray Lewis. Von Miller was moreso than Manning his final year in the season that shall not be named. It's usually the QB, but not always.
