Does the Canales era have a new vibe?

Recommended Posts

Honestly he creeps me out some. Can’t verbalize the entire feeling but TV evangelist vibe is an element, there is also a high school cheerleader facade.

So far I like him in his job and think he projects to be good hire, possibly, but there isn’t much to go on yet. I’ll just hope he isn’t too twisted.

Seems to appreciate guys and be a guy that the players will like playing for. Also built a staff that is aligned rather than a brain trust. The coach speak is still coach speak but comes across like he gives you more insight. So yes, I think a different vibe.

That said, they still need to execute and the moment there is a sighting of a DBO sign all bets are off.

I think it's starting and there's been enough turnover that most will be able to buy into it.

He's got the same level of infectious energy that Cam had and will have the same effect, being able to elevate the guys around him.

He's what this team needed.

he has the right attitude.  he and Morgan have made the right moves and, for the first time in a long time, we seem to have a plan to build.  I realize that some here will want him torched and tarred and feathered when he does not instantly put us in the playoffs, but there will be improvement this year.  If he does that for two years in a row, we can start talking playoffs.  I think he is smart and will be the best coach we have seen in a long while.

    • I could be waaaaaaay off about Kon. I do fault myself into, to borrow a NFL phrase heavily "RAS" nerd on players, too much. There are PLENTY of athletic freak shows that are playing overseas(or Amazon delivery) cause they never figured out NBA ball. I can easily miss seeing the talent. Plus did he only have 2 dunks on the season??(is that for real??) I didn't watch over a few hours of duke, but not one point did I think "That Kon guy is a top 4 pick in the upcoming draft". IMO I still foresee Ball bringing the ball up, doing his weak isolation game and never even looking for Kon. That's his best trait according to everyone, shooting right? I do not see ball, bridges, miller or even williams making the extra pass to Kon for him to shoot a 3.  Then defense-wise, Im not ready to type the amount of questions I foresee in his ability for guarding NBA SGs or bench SFs for that matter. Not that NBA players care to defend, but still..... I just feel he's a bad fit for the current hornets, trades are taking place tho... Liam to me is a decent comp for Kon and he fell some, but was a 29 overall pick. Still around 13-21 was the good solid range for Liam and I thought the same for Kon. This is just a classic case of I need to see it. It add to this, Kon is like garlic. Ball is like sugar and Miller is like flour. Mix it together and chef Lee is not going to get me to eat that dish..... Honestly I don't know why Im this vocal about Kon. In past years I would be patience and not post and see what the kid has. The other side, insert classic white boy terms here- _____, ______, _______< etc >. Hornets do desperately need them. His crafty back door cuts, his willingness to stay a extra 2 hours to refine lees plays, keep playing with bruised limbs. I heard from many reports he's mentally tough and hornets by all gods need that. God they are such pussys.  I hope Im wrong and if so, I will give Kon his just props.
